Marina passed away on July 21, 2026. She was a gifted and talented artist - I will miss her art commentary and photos of life around NYC that she posted on social media - Hal Peters
It's been over a month since we got the painful news that you gave up your brave long fight. My heart is shattered, and the gut-wrenching shock remains. I understand how draining it was for you. I don't know if I could have endured the infusions. My humble attempts to cheer you on while in the hospital were difficult, and each time I prayed so hard I could work a miracle and cure you.
You and Tattiana were so talented. We all admired you and wondered what fascinating creation was in store for us each day. Be it your haircuts, dresses, or class projects. You brought such knowledge and creativity way beyond your years.
I only wish you had shared your lithographs, etchings, silkscreens, and other works for us to enjoy and treasure. Thankfully your kind and exceptionally talented brother, Andrei, shared them on Facebook.
If I can figure out how to share them from Facebook, I will.
One of the sweetest memories I will forever hold onto was when you visited me up here in the Catskills for a weekend. You got up in the morning, way before me, and made your own coffee. You took Sophie, my black lab, for a walk, and enjoyed the view of the Schwangunk Mountains from my hammock. Sophie had a wonderful time with you. She told me so.
Although you are in my heart forever, you are pain-free now, and your presence is nearby. Fly high, my friend. Thank you for including me.
