From Teresa Daegele Lucas class of 1977
My sister, Susan, was one of my best friends. When you are 18 months apart, you might as well be twins! She was the ying to my yang and I loved her quiet strength. As we grew into adults and became closer, we talked nearly every day over the military miles. Susan had the unfortunate task of having to help her nine-year-old daughter deal with cancer, chemotherapy and ultimately, death. She did it with grace and faithfulness and I could not admire her more.
Unfortunately, she put off the nagging lump in her breast to take care of Kaitlyn. When she finally saw about it, it had reached stage IV. Although she eventually went into remission, the cancer came back with a vengeance in the form of a brain tumor. We all watched her face her last years with quiet strength and such beautiful dignity. I will love you forever, Susan, enjoy paradise with Kaitlyn.

Susan was always kind and helpful. The smile that is on her face usually stayed there. It is always sad when we see a face on the page. I am sure you are in heaven with the rest of the angels.
