I probably watched the movie “Wall Street” one to many times our senior year. I remember reciting the “Greed is good” speech in Coach Kelt’s class for a project. Thus, life after Sam Houston took form.
After graduation, I went to Stephen F. Austin and received a BBA concentrating in economics and finance. Nacogdoches is a great small town and the university was just the right size.
I moved back to Houston in 1994 and started my investments career with AIG. It was not a fun place to work, even back then.
I left AIG in 1997 and was hired as an analyst at AIM Investments. For 10 years, I worked there with a brief 2 year stint in Atlanta (1999-2001) with the sister company, INVESCO. I attended the University of St. Thomas and received a Master’s degree in Accounting. Most investment people hate accounting but unfortunately it is critical!!! (Especially now in this market)
I currently work at Kenmont Investments which is a hedge fund specializing in fixed income and distressed investing in the energy, transportation, and power sectors. And no, our fund did not cause the market collapse in 2008.
Engaged and getting married in the Fall 2009... No kids…
I live in Candlelight Plaza just north of the Heights and attend St. Michael’s church. I am the sports director for the young adult group. I regularly play sand volleyball, softball, and tennis during the week and work on the alumni board at UST.
