After graduating from Sam in June of 1967 I married Stan Stinson in Aug. We had a son - Michael Shayne - one year later. In 1972 we had a daughter - Ginger Lee - who died shortly after birth. Stan and I were divorced in 1973.
I also started working for Brown & Root in 1973 as a secretary. After 6 years I began working as a scheduler and did this work until I retired in 2004. Absolutely LOVED my work and everyone I worked with at Brown & Root.
In 1983, while working for B&R at Shell Deer Park I met Mel Schobel (Shell employee). We dated for awhile and then split up because our kids were jealous. Went back out to Shell in 1994 to do another job and ran into Mel again. This time, the kids were all grown, we began dating again and were married in May of 2000. We are both retired now and "livin in the country" - in New Caney.
We have a 1941 Ford Convertible (Plain Vanilla) that we have a lot of fun with. Friends now include lots of former SHHS students who also have hotrods -- Jesse and Marilyn (Roach) Tanner, Mike and Barbara (Willis) Thames, Archie and Patsy (Howard) Turpin, Billy and Charlotte (Everitt) Emmons, Charlie and Beverly (Schoppe) Tanner, Johnny and Orean (Crook) Jones, and Charles (Smiley) and Cindy (Cuthbertson) Youngblood. We have great time with all our hotrods and car shows.
Have a great life which includes our Church family at Kingwood, our Hotrod buddies (other Sam Houston High Students) and, of course, our kids and grandkids.
