Hi Fellow Tigers...

I am blessed to be writing this tonight... I remember Sam Houston as a turning point in my life and a great one... Teachers like Mr. Gosdin, Mr. Delaney and Mrs Boehler along with Counselors like Ms Cox and Mr Matula really made Sam a special place.

I have been an ordained minister since 1989 and will be celebrating 20 years of working with kids in a church setting..... I love what I do and why I do it, but it was special people like i mentioned above which really made a difference to be who I am today...

Teachers are not paid enough at times...and i know that Sam was recently in the news and I was sad to see that...but I know from my perspective, it was a great time... I was so shy back then and had the hugest crush on Tracey Batchelor, she was a Tigerette...

Wow, I think the funniest story for me was of a teacher, older black man who taught english who would get upset when students wouldnt turn in their homework, he would get on top of his desk and jump up and down... For the life of me, i cannot remember his name, i think it was Turner, but i am not totally sure.

The other was Ms. Georgia Boehler, some of us called her Ms BOHEALER, but it was pronounced Baylor...She would always make Homeroom exciting and she became a school counselor I believe eventually. She always had time for her students.

Mr Terry Gosdin was a great DE Teacher... He helped me get my first job at Sears Surplus on Little York when it was still there... Great Support

and finally

Mr. Matula... I remember having some real struggles at home and he would let me come to his office and open up about my struggles.....

Its funny how some people just stand out to you..
