Comments:

Sam Houston High school was a great school and My teachers were very influencial in my life. I was in Choir and played or tired to play tennis, basketball and archery. The coaches were awesome. My English Teacher, Mrs. Anderson gave me the encouragement to not let anything or any one keep me from acheiving my goals. Some of the people I graduated with weresome of the same people I started Kindergarten with at Durkee Elementary they were always so awesome and beautiful and interesting and from what I see on Facebook ...they still are!!!!

School Story:

One year the Choir planted a tree in front of the school to honor LBJ. I appreciate the fact that I stay in touch with some of my HS friends I guess they do not realize how much they mean to me.

What song reminds you most of your high school years at Sam Houston?

Stariway to Heaven and Sweet Home Alabama oh and Jesus Christ Superstar we sang it alot in choir and Color my World , Chicago

Were you in any SHHS clubs or on any SHHS sports teams?

C.S.U., Choir. Tennis, Basketball, Archery

Did you have any favorite SHHS teachers?

Mrs. Riley,Ms. Anderson and my Art and Economics Teachers

What were your favorite hangouts in high school?

There was a restuarant across the street had awesome burgers and fries I forgot the name of the place. The village inn downtown we went there to dance!!! Remember Gerrette Davis !!! and the Western Swing on Airline Dr. oh and by all means the Circle 8 Rodeo cowgirl up!!! I rode in the GrandEntry with Sam Houston and once I got bucked off during the Grand Entry how embarassing, Shakeys Pizza yeah~

What would have been a typical weekend for you in high school?

all of the above, plus Church Assembly of God Tabernacle on Sweetwater st. hang out with Debbie and Linda Orgeron. Bobby Hughes and Tommy Risher and Doug and Dale Berry oh and Curtis Pratt and my precious cousins we would go bowling or skating or ride around in our old 1966 Chevy Van ha ha

Who do you think has changed the most since high school?

Population in Texas, now we are concerned with UV rays and Ozone damage to our atmosphere and having to trip out about handsanitizer gosh they did not even used to wear gloves in a Dr. Office. I felt safe as a kid to ride my bike to Dairy Queen now I do not feel comfortable to let my kids out of the house.

What has been your biggest lesson you've learned in life since high school?

I was always very easy to be intimidated by bullies. One girl in particular always made fun of me and bullied me. I would walk away feeling less than dirt now I have learned self defense not only physically but emotionally

What, if anything, would you pass on to the future Tigers, and those getting ready to begin their lives after SHHS?

Just stay in school these are the best years of your youth
