I wish you all a very warm and Merry Christmas. I appreciate the forum very much and look forward to reading about SH and especially the north side. Thank you Roger, Judy, Duncan, and so many of you who keep this going. It's heartwarming to more than just me.

The Websters started and owned Alamo Tamale Factory,

then Louis (Eddie) bought it from his Dad.  Unfortunately,

he passed away this past July, giving up the fight to cancer.

If you google Eddie Webster obituary, it will say that at the

time of death, he was sole owner of Alamo Tamale. It

does not mention a brother and I know he had one.

Lynda L. Voswinkle (Boehm) 62,

Thanks for the info about the Alamo Tamale Co. Louis Eddie Webster must have been my classmates older brother.  I never knew him.  Charles Morales Webster was very smart and went to Rice University.  I have seen him at one of our reunions and he just looks and carries himself like he has done very well since high school.  I have no idea if he is still involved with the Tamale company.  I noticed in another post that Louis has passed away. You take care and thanks for the info.

Even though sad news about Louis Webster Morales, I thank you for sharing. I sat with him often in classes because of our last names. He was a smart, nice guy. Wish I knew how to add obit. on here. Tells a lot of history. Google it. πŸ˜ƒ

Here is a copy of Louis' obituary

Louis Morales Webster
(1944 - 2016)
Louis M. Webster "Eddie" Louis M. Webster, 72, known as Eddie to his family and friends, died peacefully at home in Houston, Texas, on July 10, 2016, after a brutal and valiant fight with lymphoma. His loving wife, Shirleen, was by his side throughout his illness and at the moment of his passing. Eddie was born on June 21, 1944, in Mexico City, Mexico. He immigrated to the United States with his parents in 1955. Despite not speaking any English when he moved to the U. S., he graduated early from Sam Houston High School, in Houston, Texas, in December of 1961, with a 4.6 GPA and as a member of the National Honor Society. He then went on to Rice University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1966. His three children, Eddie, Lisa, and Amy Vanessa, were born shortly thereafter. In 1980 Eddie met the love of his life, Shirleen, and in 1990 they were married. Eddie lived in his adopted city of Houston, Texas, from 1960 until his death. A portion of his soul, however, was always in Mexico. He had a home in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico where he spent much of his time over the last 15 years. When Eddie died, he was the sole proprietor of Alamo Tamale Company. His father started the business in 1960 and Eddie purchased it from his father in the early 1970's. Never a stranger to hard work, Eddie labored tirelessly to make it a success. Under his guidance, his business expanded and grew exponentially. Alamo Tamale Company became a Houston icon and mainstay of holiday and family celebrations all over the city and is routinely named in media outlets as having the top ranked tamales in the city. "Don Eddie", as he was known to his employees, loved his business. It was his life's work. It was his masterpiece. Eddie is survived by his wife, Shirleen Webster, and his children Eddie Morales-Webster, Lisa Coker and son-in-law Rick I. Coker, and Vanessa Morales-Knight and son-in-law J. Aaron Knight. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Thomas Morales-Webster, Kayla Morales-Webster, Katie Coker, Ben Morales-Knight, Joseph Morales-Knight, and Morgan Lucas. Eddie is predeceased by his parents, Eduardo Morales Webster and Graciela Webster. He is also predeceased by his much loved uncles, Fernando Breña and Leopoldo Breña. As per Eddie's wishes, a celebration of his life will be held in the place that was his life for over 40 years: Alamo Tamale Company at 809 Berry Road, Houston, Texas, 77002. There will be a service in both English and Spanish on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow. Alamo Tamale Company will be closed for business that day. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Sociedad Protectora de Animales, in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, www.spasanmiguel.org, or to your local SPCA

David #2856 ~ Glad you are joining us ~ I'm not sure if I am the Judy you are mentioning ~ but if I am thanks ~ I enjoy putting in a word or two. I like getting comments on here so I sometimes throw something out there in hopes of getting a topic going. We all keep the site going and interesting by making comments. So those of you that are here reading and not commenting come on and give us a shout out ~ we would like to hear what ou have to say.

Also David thanks for sharing the Alamo Tamale info ~ my sister Shirley (class of 70) lives one street over from there and we have gone there for years. They have built a new buiding ~ with a Raspa shop  ~ cantana and a large room that can be rented for parties. Maybe our next reunion could be there. I will have to check the cost of the hall, Any how thanks for the info.

Hope you had a Merry Christmas ~ we were all at my Mom's 9 - 93 in ages. We did karakoe and had a saran wrap ball to undo and did a White Elephant exchange. It was great and looking forward to wishing everyone  a Happy New Year !!!

Judy

To Ms. Emma Scott -- If my memory serves me, you were the women's volleyball coach?  Those were really fun times -- at the pratices and even the road games at other Houston high schools.

Judy Maxwell - #2868 - Hi Judy, I went to school with Fred Hargis - we had homeroom together.  I had sent him a message some months back but never heard from him.  As you said, I hope he and his family had a wonderful Christmas.

Any others from 1978, come join the discussion. It would be good to hear from you.

Wishing everyone a safe and Happy Year! If you are out on the town Saturday night please be careful. Of all the nights in the year that is one that I learned years ago NOT to go out on. I will be snuggled up at home deep in the woods with my Dogs ~ my Goats and my Sweetie ~ what more could a girl hope for~ Looking forward to talking with all of you next year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ~ LET 2017 be spectacular for all of us~~

Judy

P.S. Food for thought ~ I drove down Luell off Jensen the other day and tried to remember all the stores and names of places in that area. Proskie's came to mind and their was a Weingartens at the corner ~ The clinic where we use to get our shots ~ What else????

And my sister Shrley and I ate at a Prince's Hamburger joint on Ella near 43rd last week end! Good burger and pictures from some of the older locations.

Hello Ms Emma Scott,

I ran into Ms Janet Carr back in 1999 in Bellaire TX.  Even though you had 300 students a day, you both are remembered well.  I can still see both of your faces after all these years.

Ms. Scott, you are remembered fondly as my PE teacher.  I have a picture of you at our prom in I believe a short white party dress.  I'll get it out and post for you - very pretty lady.

I believe I had Ms Carr for typing all three years.  I still remember that ruler in my back if I did not sit up straight with both feet on the ground.  I still practice that and have no back problems sitting at the computer all day.

Loved my years at Sam Houston

Post 2878, Judy....

Judy mentioned the posting for Mickey Parsons, father of Jim Parsons of Big Bang.  Jim and his sister went to high school, Klein Oak, with my children, Clint and Cori.  I didn't know if you were aware that Jim's mother is a 1966 Sam Houston graduate, Judy McKnight.  Judy was always a very sweet young lady.

Blessings to all Sam Houston Tigers for a great 2017!!

Happy New Year to everyone. I, too, read all of the posts a couple of times a week. Ms. Scott and Ms. Bibee were 2 of my favorite teachers at Sam. I think one of my biggest regrets while in high school was not participating more in school functions and all the activities that were offered. I was quiet &I kept to myself. I had the biggest crush on Gary White. Lol. My home room teacher was Ms. Alger. I remember sitting next to Tommy Burke in home room. I went to all of the football games and still have some of the ribbons i bought on Friday mornings. Good memories.
