Deborah Quinn (Hensel) (1972)

Just a reminder: the Class of '72 is holding its 50-year reunion celebration tomorrow night, Oct. 1, at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 607 E. Whitney from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. At this late stage, we cannot accommodate a rush of unnanounced "at-the-door" arrivals, but if anyone would really still like to join us, please call me at 832-372-5383.

Mel Moy (1960)

I encourage every one of you who can to attend your 50 yr Reunion.  It seems like only yesterday that my class of 1960 had our 50 yr Reunion.  But 12 years have past since then, and many have left us.  There is very little chance that we will ever have another gathering to see each other again.  I’m so glad we had that Reunion.  You should go if you can.

I agree with Mel Moy class of 1960 about attending your 50th. The class of 1962 celebrated 60 years in April and our group very thin. Hard to travel, ailments and passing away. So glad we had a 50th and 55th.

To all Sam Houston Vietnam veterans there will be the dedication of the Vietnam Fallen Warriors Monument on Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, 1898 Tidwell Rd. in Houston. The park is just over the railroad tracks from the school. I'll be the one in the Proud Sister of a Vietnam Veteran shirt.

Judy Collins, I would enjoy attending the Vietnam Memorial Defication But I will be in the Philippines at that time on Nov. 12. I just left Houston on Oct. 18, flew home to California after a get together with my siblings, kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Please take photos of the dedication and post in this Sam Houston Alumni Wensite. I will be back in Houston in early March for my granddaughters wedding. If I have time, I will go visit the Vietnam Memotial Park. I had no ideal there was a park there.

JUST A THOUGHT!

I spent almost a whole hour looking through the class of 1970 listings, specifically the ones who are deceased. Some may think that is morbid, but being in Arkansas, I rarely get to the Houston area. I paid attention to the cause of death and dates. I need to try better to stay in touch. I miss all of my fellow TIGERS!

No not morbid ~ When I worked at Lockwood National bank I was the one that had to look at the paper daily at Obituaries for bank customers. Once I got to doing that I continued to read them even after my job changed. I now live out in the country and they read the daily obituaries on the ones that are in the funeral homes fixing to have funerals on the radio every day, I enjoy being able to hear about them and can keep up with people that have passed away.

Your not the only one that looks at death. I give a print out to Scott Buchanan of the ones listed here in Memory. We get togther every year for Christmas at Martha's (scott's sister) and I give him the print out and keep him up to date.... lol

Good seeing eeyone on here.

Judy

All this talk about friends who are no longer with us reminds me that the rest of us all have something to celebrate. And Willie put it into a song:

Hi Don - Great to hear this Willie song. I also like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kn-AB78kvvE. Willie has a way of saying things that make me reflective and feel a sense of joy for all the years and adventures I have been able to experience. Hope you continue to enjoy the ride. Are you still SCUBA diving?

I am curious about the fifth Fridy luncheons.  When/if will they be starting up again?  Also, will they be at the same restaurant as before the pandemic?
