I was hoping to be a late add for the 60th Birthday Party that Rick, JD, and the Gang have been so hard at work putting together. I live in town, and just couldn't imagine missing this one! That's, unfortunately, going to be the case. The company I work for has it's annual event that weekend, and I am unable to commit to both. It is the first year I will be a part of this event in my new position, and I will be the MC. You all will certainly be in my thoughts and I hope you have a great celebration!

Birthday Party Headcount!

Hello all,

Next Friday, on 9 September, the BPAT has to submit a head count to the catering staff at RTJ for our party food needs.  If you have not yet signed up, either on line or by mailing in a form, please do so ASAP. If you are not completely sure yet, or you think a mail in form might arrive after the fact, or if you think you will attend but can't commit until the last second, please give us a indication of your intent by posting here, to be there and we will factor you in to the head count!

Okay - I'm putting together a list of people that want to go, but won't be sure until the last minute, or that said they would earlier, but have not yet signed up, so that I can factor this into the food head count. I was cleaning out some old (ok, ancient) files and found the following

*1971 football programs: GHS v Butler, 9/24/71; GHS v Lee 10/7/71; and GHS v Huntsville 11/4/71; these programs are about 50 pages long each and have pictures of the players, coaches, cheerleaders and more. 

*1971-72 Program for GHS Basketball; two-pages back and front with pictures

*1973 4A Football Championship Program GHS v Banks High School; two-pages back and from, but no pictures

If you want one or all of these, let me know and I will bring them next weekend.

Volunteers to Help at the Party!

No event is without the need for volunteers!  We've asked for help manning the registration table, setting up the DJ equipment and Decorating for the party. This is another call for helpers.

Thank you to the following volunteers who have volunteered to be greeters at the door and registration table.

Your team leader is Sharon M. Dickenson - if you can be at the party about 15-30 minutes early, she will brief you on the tasking. Basically - you will be checking off people from the RSVP list and taking funds from the walk ups and those who are paying at the door, providing name tags and selling raffle tickets. Expect about a 30 minute shift each. Two at a time. Sharon and others will from the BPAT team will be helping.

Decorators - thanks to the following volunteers to help with decorating.

We could still use a couple more. Members of the BPAT team will be there as well. We will need decorators on hand about 1 to 1.5 hours prior to the party (between 430 and 500 pm).

Ditto for the helpers for setting up the DJ equipment.

So far no volunteers yet for that.
