Thursday, September 15, is Grissom's Homecoming Game and it starts at 7:00.  A group of us are meeting at 6:30 at South Gate A (obviously the south end of the stadium).  Buy your tickets when you get there.  I have not been able to find the price, but they are not expensive.  You will also need to pay to park at Milton Frank (bring cash, small bills) or can park elsewhere and walk to stadium.

We currently have:  Janice Burson (Samford)
Charles Campbell & Judy Campbell
David "Catfish" Campbell
Sharon Dickinson (Marlowe)
Cheryl Escue (Owens)
Alisa Owens (Davis) & Art Davis
Rick Shrout & Kay Marshall (Shrout)

I'm so sorry to be backing out at the last minute. My husband and I have been sick and I was hoping we would feel up to it but we both feel lousy.  I know you have put so much effort into this gathering and I hope you all have a great time.  Debbie (Auchter) Crabtree

I just want to send out a big Thanks to all of my wonderful classmates for attending the Birthday party for all us who have or are about to be 60 years old. It was so great seeing all of you.  You guys and gals are great classmates and it was wonderful seeing and catching up with so many people last night. It was good to see those who were able to visit for the very first time since we graduated. Thank you for making the event. We have a wonderful group of people and getting together with all of you has special meaning. While our high school will no longer be around, these friendships are ever lasting and I for one cherish them. Some of you I have known over 50 years from Weatherly onward till today. I am proud to be an alumni of the Grissom High Class of 1974.

I was "revved up" to attend but I had eye surgery Friday so I had to miss it.  Looks like the team put together a great evening as always.  I hope to make the next event. It will be great to see some of the old "Grissomites"

We feel things deeply, as we age we recognize there is an appointed time for everything. A time to laugh, a time to weep and a time to reflect. A wonderful evening was spent at the Hampton Cove Clubhouse as we celebrated our BIG 60th Birthday through friendships, love, laughter and tears. Thankful to have spent time with friends, classmates and fond memories of those who have passed on before us. Those who couldn't attend -you were missed. God Bless - Grissom High Class 1974. Safe travels to those traveling home. See ya at our 45th Reunion!!!!

Hi All,

The Classwide 60th Birthday Party was a big success! We had around 88 people attend of which over 66 were classmates including 6 from Class of 71, three from Class of 72, two from 73 and one each from class of 75 and 76. The rest were class of 74 and their guests. Pictures are floating around on the internet in various facebook pages. Many on my page are public so check them out.

After all Bills were settled, I would like to report that the party raised $784 dollars (partly from good budgeting by the planning team and also from raffle ticket sales) which were deposited into our class account and will be put toward the 45 Year Reunion fund, our next big class event, coming up in 2019.

Cheers,

J.D. Webster

Thanks to J. D. and the rest who made this happen. It was a wonderful time for us.  for those who were unable to make it, you  missed out.  I spent time with Mark McKown, who I had not seen in 42 years-well worth the price of admission.  Oh yeah, I enjoyed seeing they usual supsects too!  Lets do this again in '19.  We're not getting any younger.--george

Jim -the peach perserves are delicious! As I enjoyed them this morning, I was able to reflect on the good friend that made the perserves. And, the wonderful friends I saw last weekend. Great party and thank you to the BPAT team. It was wonderful to visit with great classmates. Very happy the Gail McLaurine, Leanne Elsworth, and Michelle Rothwell made it to this reunion. Looking forward to future gatherings....hopefully in Nashville! Best wishes for a good health and happiness this fall and Christmas season!
