July 25th Reunion Plans

We have located a place to hold the reunion.  It will be on Saturday, July 25th.  Roddy Cochran's family is going to let us have the reunion on their farm.  A few years ago they built a very nice lake on the farm with a bathhouse, 1 small cabin, a screened room & some open decks that overlook the lake.  You can swim in the lake & they have a small boat on the lake too.  They keep the area stocked with a bbq grill, picnic tables & some other tables & chairs, but it would be a good idea to bring a couple of lawn chairs with you.  There is a place to set up a band or a dj.  Jeff Shackleford has agreed to be in charge of the music.  We were thinking that we would keep it simple & bbq (hamburgers, hot dogs & brats).  Maybe start around 4 in the afternoon & try to eat around 6.  If we want to they said we could shoot off some fireworks at dark.  I could use a volunteer to be in charge of the fireworks if anyone is interested.  They also said if anyone would want to pitch a tent & spend the night you are welcome to do that.  There is a one room cabin that would be available too.  We could set up a horseshoe pit or some other yard games (any volunteers for this?).  Let me know how you would prefer to handle the food.  We could do a potluck & everyone bring a dish & contribute (maybe $5 each) to buy the meat & paper supplies or if everyone would rather just contribute around $10 each we could just buy the meat & sides & no one would have to bring any food.  Either way is ok with me or if someone has another idea for the food I'm open to any suggestions.  The Cochran farm is located about 8 miles outside of Iberia (toward Vienna) off of hwy 42.  We will get maps to everyone with directions to the farm.  If anyone has any ideas for activities that day please let me know.  I will try to get a letter mailed to everyone that doesn't have email to let them know the plans, but if you see any of our classmates help me spread the word.  I'll be in touch with more details soon - can't wait until July 25th!  (and pray that it doesn't rain that day - wouldn't want a repeat of the senior trip)
