FYI: In January we celebrated the home going of our beloved classmate, friend and relative, Kenneth Ruffin. It was at this service that a small group of us got together and decided that we were tired of meeting and seeing each other only during times of sorrow and loss. we decided at that time to put together a reunion of friends, classmates and many relatives long lost or forgotten. That same day, Sylvia, Barbara and myself decided to get a pad and pencil and start listing a few names. The list started small. A few days later Barbara had a web-site posted, a common connection, and the list kept getting larger and larger. In a very short time the event began to take on a life of its own. The results, as you can see are on the site. As the event grew, we got together and decided to put together a three day event. with certain priorities and goals in mind. Our goal was to get as many of us together as we could. We wanted it to be structured and organized by having something to do for the three days. We wanted it to be fun. Time was reserved Sunday for giving God the glory for allowing us to come together and even bring us to today. The priority was managing everything in a way that allowed maximum time for us to spend time together rehashing old times and catching up on new ones. This meant turning down offers of parades, talent shows, meeting the mayor, the press, publicity and on and on. The three of us agreed on one thing. Life is short, this is about us. Institutions will endure the test of time. This event, this opportunity, for many of us will never pass this way again. So I ask all of you, take advantage of this opportunity, go back in time in your life and relive the memories. Relive all of the events that have brought you to this point. Enjoy this rare moment and opportunity in your life. And most of all thank God for it....
