Betsy Damron Addington

After graduation, I attended Clinch Valley College and then worked for Bethlehem Steel for 10 years. After they closed, I moved over to the legal profession and have worked for 25 years as a legal secretary. During this time, David and I raised two beautiful daughters, Summer, who attended UK and is an x-ray tech currently raising 3 children. She is married to David Powers, and they now own Boggs Pharmacy and a medical supply store here in Jenkins. Ashley graduated from UVA-Wise and is teaching at Jenkins (yea!) as a Health & PE teacher. She is also the girls basketball coach (go Lady Cavs!) and golf coach. After working 35+ years, I decided to slow down and spend more time with the grandchildren....they grow up way too fast!! So I semi-retired and now running the roads with the grandkids, spending time at our place on Douglas Lake and helping Summer occasionally at their store-a perfect fit for me!!

Class of '75, why does that sound so long ago?! All those band trips, ball trips, track meets, cheerleading competitions....where did we find time to study?? So many things have happened, but we're still kicking! As you know, I married my high school sweetheart, and 37 years later, we're still kicking too! Our daughters still live close, and we are so blessed to have 3 beautiful grandchildren. Being all grown up ain't so bad!
