Jack Horner

I was active in the Band, Baseball team, Football team at Jenkins. Attended Eastern Kentucky, graduated AB degree 1958. MA 1961. Started the Madison Central High School Band in 1958. Taught at Paintsville High School, Chilhowie (VA) high school and Williamson (WV) high school. In 1967 resigned from Williamson high school and went to work in Huntington WV for Kenney Music Co. as an accounts representative. Spent the next 13 years getting married and working for Kenney Music and The Pied Piper. Returned to teaching in 1980 at Hurricane High School. Moved to East Bank HS and then to Virginia. Retired from teaching at George Wythe High School in Wytheville Virginia. The following year Sydney was born and a year later we moved to North Carolina where we now reside. I am teaching at West Lincoln HS. We really like North Carolina and enjoy the mild winters and very nice weather here close to Charlotte.

I especially remember the Band and the sports activities.
My class was the only class ever to go to the state baseball tournament four years in a row. We were state runners up my junior year being beaten by Newport Catholic for the State title.
I also remember Coach Freeman (football) He helped me learn what it took to succeed.
