Billie Wright Davis

In 1998, I retired from teaching English. Since 2001, I have enjoyed working in the Mutuel Department during the April and October Live Meets at Keeneland Race Track.

In the fall of 1957, it was very special to be a freshman trombone player in the high school band and to participate in parades and to perform at football games. I was one of those at the Big Sandy Bowl game in Paintsville and witnessed what the super Cavalier football team accomplished. Those of us who were there know what happens to floodlights which are hit by a powerful kick of a football.
