Dave from the far left of center! Vote early and vote often! But that is only one broken down ex-soldier's point of view.

So, I just happened onto a small cache of photos I took back in the day. How appropriate/inappropriate is it to post photos of, say, couples who are no longer couples? Funny? Sweet? Or in bad taste?

Steve -- Post away. The ones you posted already are beyond awesome.

I think I still have about a gajillion photos from my old 110 camera packed away upstairs.

I also just realized that I started at Loretto nearly 30 years ago.

Steve -- your picts are Fantastic! I would love to see them posted here, but there was one idea that sounded cool for the Sat. night event -- play a loop of photos on a screen while we eat, talk & do the open mic. thing. So any photos you don't post here, consider them for June. ...and when it comes to couples, well, our past is past. The people we're with now should realize that we all have baggage. I would say -- Post Away!

I found this info for Pat Clothier:

http://www.marilcrabtree.com/STONES/contributors.htm

Patricia Clothier grew up on a ranch in the wilds of west Texas, taught art and language arts, and with her husband, Grant, built and operated for twenty years a children’s camp in the Missouri Ozarks. These experiences enhanced her love for nature and young people. Patricia is author of Beneath the Window (Iron Mountain Press, 2003), a narrative of ranch life in Big Bend country before that area became a national park. Contact her at PnGClothier@aol.com.

Found and uploaded a few old Loretto photos; not nearly as many as I know I have somewhere around here...

Whoever came up with this idea, my hat's off to you! (Well, if I wore a hat. It's the thought that counts :-)

It's great to see all the old photos. I'll have to go digging, but I think my photo collection is nil. Not even a yearbook, even though I was on the yearbook photo staff one year. LOL. Turned 'em all in.

So thanks to those putting up photos. It's awesome.

I'm pretty sure the kid in the Duran Duran T-shirt in the Rae Marie picture was Mike Matula.

Hearing from Raul made me remember another AFS student we had, who didn't seem to make it on the list: Torres Trovic, from Oslo, Norway. (I have no idea if I'm even close on the spelling of his name.) I seem to remember he may have been hosted by Meg McWhinney, but I'm not positive.

Hello you Loretto-ites you!!!

Good to have a way to connect. I spent years 69-81 at the school on tornado hill. I dream about it off and on -- recurring dream about being in locker hall, at my locker, and I can't remember my &(^*%*(($ combination. HMMMMMMMMMMMM.
Looking forward to hearing from you all and seeing you in June '09 - a mere 28 yrs post graduation. But who's counting ? . . . . .

Ciao for now.

Hey Folks,
I got the last of the bids for Catering. Details are posted in the "25 Year Reunion" tab. This Brancato's came in a full 20% under everybody else with a more extensive menu (there's a story there -- for the next Planning Meeting). The cash bar prices are "okay" but not great:

Consumption Bars "By the Drink"
House Brands $4.00
Call Brands $4.50
Premium Brands $6.50
Top Shelf $7.50
Domestic Beer $3.75
Premium Beer $4.25
Wine $4.50
Soft Drinks & Bottled Water $1.75

Our other option is to go with a "Hosted Bar" (i.e. sort of an open bar, but the prices below are per person, so it can get Really expensive Really quickly):
House Brands $15.50
Call Brands $17.95
Premium Brands $21.00
Includes Cocktails, Domestic Beer, Wine, juices, mixers, sodas, bottled water, and garnishes

In both cases, the other fees are:
Bartender fees of $25.00/Hour with a four hour minimum. 1/2 hr set up and 1/2hr breakdown time is
added to serving hours
Cash Bars Require a Minimum Sales Amount of $350.00
Applicable Sales Tax will be applied.
Upcharge for Glassware: $2.00/guest

Now a short note:

If anybody has an opinion or questions on the above options and pricing, let me know so I can ask the caterers before our next Planning Meeting.

Folks -- some have asked about Hors D’oeuvres being passed out before dinner being served. It will cost a few dollars more, but it sounds good. The caterer suggested:

Goat Cheese Bruschetta

Mushroom Tartlets

Mini Beef Wellington

Thoughts?

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY!

Hey guys. I just set up an online photo album on Picasa for our Loretto fambly. The album is here, and I've started us off:

http://picasaweb.google.com/lamontikon/LorettoAcademyOfKansasCity19801984#

There is a 500 photo limit, and a storage limit as well, but anyone can upload photos to the album by attaching them to an email to the following address:

lamontikon.loretto@picasaweb.com

Please put:

Loretto Academy of Kansas City - 1980-1984

in the subject line and they will appear immediately.

We can set up a slide show directly from the album to play at the reunion, so get uploading!

Billy Idol's "White Wedding" is one of those songs & videos that always takes me back to my Loretto days.

This version messes with my head, in all the best ways:
