Comments:

From 1984-1995, I served as Principal/Coordinator of Kansas City Academy (KCA), as well as teaching Algebra II (yes, they had to write "math papers," too), Advanced Math Topics, and Introduction to Calculus.

In 1988, I completed a doctoral program and received a D.Min. degree in administration from St. Paul School of Theology.

From 1995-2005, I worked half-time at KCA as Academic Dean. At the end of the 2004-2005 school year -- the year I turned 50 -- I retired on disability, due to Post-Polio Sydrome (diagnosed in 1992) and Parkinson's Disease (diagnosed in 1999).

In December of 2005, I bought a house -- a first for me!! Eleanor Craig. SL, and I moved into it in January of 2006. It's great little house, having been custom designed and built in 1987 for a couple, one of whom was disabled and used a wheel chair. Thus it was constructed to be fully accessible -- 4 ft. wide hallways, 3 ft. wide doorways, a roll-in shower just off the master bedroom, even a power lift to get from the garage into the house, etc. What a find!!

Now, in 2009, as KCA celebrates its 25th year, I manage to keep busy enough. I am President and Treasurer of the Hermitage Spiritual Retreat Center, located on the shore of Lake Pomme de Terre in south central Missouri. I serve on the Lay Advisory Council at Assumption Abbey -- a Trappist monastery, located in the Ozark Mountains near the Arkansas border. And, I serve on the Financial Aid Committee at KCA and am an ex officio member of the KCA Board.
