Comments:

So many memories of Loretto I'm not sure where to begin. If I ramble a bit my apologies.

LOWER SCHOOL -
Sr. Mary Grace, our Librarian, was so kind to all us kids. Mrs. DiGeronimo, Secretary & Nurse, took care of all of our scrapes and cuts with mercurichrom, a bandaid & a hug. As a child I was always a bit afraid of our Principal Sr. Alvera Grawer (She was actually very dedicated and pleasant woman when you got to know her)

Teachers - So many-- Mrs. Carroll was always one of my favorite teachers- She was a graduate of Loretto herself, an certainly had a big impact on my early years. Mrs. Lucas, Mrs. Shavers, Mrs. Klinger, Mrs, McBee, Carol Andreasen, Sr. Elizabeth Ann Compton, Marianne Damon, Helen Darnell, Sally Turman, Carolyn Campbell, Rita White, Tanya Carter, Jean Pilling, Sr. Patrice, Sr. Susan, Sr. Mary McAulliff, Sharon Timmons, Verl Mason, Sr. Lucy all contributed to shaping my early years. To those I forgot to mention, sorry.

Classes - Clean Sweep (Math), Pygmies, Cities, Mayas, House Design, Cursive, Pet Rocks, Batteries & Bulbs, Me Growing Up, Stich a Critter, Law, Systems, All In One Studies, Growing Things, Tanzania, Bushman, E.R.A., Life American Style, SRA, French to name a few.

Sr. Elizabeth Ann teaching us Music and Vocals in a room in the Upper school wing. The room was later used for French & Spanish. We would sing songs with her while she played autoharp. Stuffed frogs. The waterbed listening to music with headphones.

Sally teaching us about other cultures and civilizations - Pygmies, Bushman, Incas etc. Building huts in the forest ajoining the campus. Fieldtrips. Some class about historic architecture in K.C. - Going to the stock yards fieldtrip and eating at the Golden Ox.

I remember ditching orchestra for several days and hiding in my locker in lower school. Sr. Patrice tracked me down and found me hiding inside. I didn't like playing the violin much. I used to fake it a lot. Sr. Patrice figured it out and forced me into a trio so I couldn't fake it anymore. I soon after stopped playing Violin-- I was awful.

I somehow dumped a huge 1/2 gallon bottle of Elmers Glue on myself in the art room in lower school. This was when the art room was in the lower school gymnasium before it became South Pod a year later (I think we also had regular classes on the perimeter of the room). Sr. Alvera brought me down to the convent and stripped me of my glue covered clothing and put me in the showers. I showered and wrapped myself in towels til my Mother showed up with clean clothes. That was the first time I had ever seen the inside of the convent. At the time numerous nuns lived there-- there had to be at least 40.

Everytime we had an assembly we would go to the Theater and sit on cold concrete steps. At that time we had no wood stage, no stage lighting & no theater seating-- it was real basic. Most of my fellow classmates will not remember this time period, as it pre dates thier Loretto experience. The seating, lighting & stage were added in 1976 if memory serves me right.

We used to do something called Mini Courses. Parents would donate their time to teach a course related to their feild or expertise. They would be 3 or 4 days if I remember correctly. In 1976 I got to do one about advertising. JB Bremser's Dad taught it & we had a blast. We did television commercials for World's of Fun. We were able to ride the Scream Roller (America's First Double Looping Roller Coaster) before it was open to the public. We actually did several set up's including the Octopus at night - Footage World's of Fun used for numerous years. Sams skee ball hall commercial for Sam the Panda's Birthday or something like that. Great fun. We also did a photo shoot for Mc Donalds, all of us kids were on one of the paper tray liners.

MIDDLE SCHOOL -
I started middle school a year behind my classmates. Originally I was class of 1985--I was held back in Lower school to work on my Math skills. Seemed like a no brainer since I had started 1st grade a year ahead of schedule and was a year younger than my classmates. I guess they figured I wouldn't notice. I noticed. My best friends Steve Judd & Chris Coughlin were now a year ahead of me and in Middle School- and I was NOT amused. This event was one of the only scars from Loretto and one of the most painful memories in my young life.

Teachers - Nelda Gosnell, Don Mros, Sr. Carole Echen, Carol Morris, Millie Yawn, Sr. Elizabeth Croom, Edda Cardenas, Verl Mason, Troy Garrison, Astrid Debuhr, Shaun McMahon, Rita White, Mae Hunter, Denyse Johnson, Bill Haller, Pat Clothier, Irene McCorkindale, & John Stanforth.

Classes - Steps, Logical Lisa, Suki, Drawing & Painting, Fibers, To Toke Or Not To Toke, I Hate English, Blood & Guts, ComYOUnity, Maturity, Literary Calvacade, Humanities, I am Not A Short Adult, M.A.U.I., Turkey, Push Shove, Spell It Write, Plot A Plant, Typing, & Chemistry to name a few.

I hated STEPS - I don't know why-- maybe because it was required. Thank God I got through it with the help of Nelda. I used to have my STEPS project - I think I finally threw it out.

Don Mros playing with his mustache all though class. A nice enough Teacher I can't remember much about his classes just remember that damn mustache. I took "To Toke Or Not To Toke" which was the evils of doing drugs class--the films we saw were like bad after school specials... in fact they probably were. Mia Woods & Doug Earp were in that class with me-- they wood pass notes to each other all the time-- at that time they had puppy love for one another-- I guess I must have sat between them a lot.

Anyone got a comb?? Everyone had those cheap multicolored plastic combs sticking out of there pocket. Can't remember who that guy was that was always combing his hair, every single time you saw him he had a comb in his hand-- and no it wasn't Matt McBee.

Designer Jeans--OMG how in the Hell did we ever pour ourselves in to those things. I can remember I had a pair I just couldn't put on anymore so I gave them to my sister Michelle--they didn't fit her so she gave to Monica Liston- They fit her to a T.

Love to hang out with all the theater stage crew. I loved building sets and doing those great plays.
Sitting in the booth with Hugh and Kristin? I think her name was Kristin anyhow correct me if I'm wrong.

Upper School -
I will update this later.
