Tommy Matula of Seattle, Washington, passed away June 7, 2007, at the VA Puget Sound Hospital in Seattle. He was born June 1, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to Joe and Millie Matula. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his brothers Dan Matula and Dennis Matula, sister-in-law Karen Matula, beloved nephew Matthew Matula, nephew Michael Matula and his aunt Joanne and uncle Gene Hosek. He is also survived by a small army of friends including his fellow veterans. Tom served two tours of duty for his country with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vietnam. He was cherished by all that had the pleasure of his company as a wonderful and caring man who brought out the best in others. Services will be held on Thursday, June 28, at 10:30 a.m., at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri. Published in Kansas City Star on June 24, 2007
