(March 25, 1914 - August 13, 2008)  
 
LANCASTER, SC: Mrs. Marguerite McSwain Johnson, age 94, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at White Oak Manor. She was born March 25, 1914 in Cherokee County, SC, the daughter of the late George Pinkney McSwain and Ida Ann Mullinax McSwain and was the wife of the late Rev. Howard Thomas Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was a retired minister’s wife and a member of First Baptist Church of Blacksburg, SC.
 
Mrs. Johnson is survived by a son, Rev. Cecil Johnson and his wife Carolyn of Lancaster, 2 grandchildren, Yvonne Oswald and her husband James and Nan Johnson, 2 great grandchildren, Justin and Benjamin Oswald, and 2 sisters, Lucille Randall of Grover, NC and Verona Hardin of Blacksburg, SC.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by a sister, Alma Carroll and a brother, Paul McSwain.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Johnson will be 2:00 pm, Saturday afternoon, August 16, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Cecil Johnson, Rev. Don Whitener, and Rev. Elton Hunter. The Graveside Service will follow at 4:00 pm at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Blacksburg, SC.
 
The Family of Mrs. Johnson will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday evening, August 15, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to White Oak Manor Staff Activities, 253 Craig Manor Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
