Mr. Alexander was my Algebra I and Geometry teacher at KMSHS. He was a sweet and kind person, working with students after class to grasp elusive mathematical concepts.
Until recently, I didn't know of the sacrifices Mr. Alexander made during World War II. (It seems several of our teachers and administrators were veterans, but I never knew.) But, our DAR chapter honored our surviving WWII Veterans several years ago. Mr. Alexander was a POW and was part of a forced march in which many, many men died. I am sure, at times, he wondered if his faith would carry him through those horrors of war.
On behalf of our class, I want to thank and honor Mr. Alexander for his service to our country... and for his service to his fellow man. As a teacher, he worked hard to help us understand and learn Algebra and Geometry. And, as a man, he cared for our souls and worked to bring us to God. I am sure many who took his Bible Class can attest to that.
I am confidant Mr. Alexander is now resting at the feet of Jesus, his life on earth complete. After all of his struggles and tribulations during his 98 years of life, I hope he has heard the words, "Thank you for a job well done, my son." I know I was blessed to have known him.
