Fred was my first cousin.  He and I grew up together.  He loved everything about horses and horse activities.  He got sick with cancer while he was in his late twenties and fought it for seven years.  He loved having fun with his friends and we all loved being with him.

As my brother Ted said, we grew up together.  We were more like brothers than cousins.  We enjoyed the last years of his life riding horses and hunting together-he truly loved being a cowboy!

Fred Carlson, I think of him often.  If you knew Fred, you couldn,t help but like him.  He was such a happy and positive person.

I had the pleasure of spending the summer working on a ranch in central Idaho together.  We were together 24/7.  this was after our JR year, 1961.

He was one of the BEST..

We received this comment from Mike Jones:

"Fred died of cancer in 1973.  He visited me in Portland when he was receiving cancer treatments there.  He was a most excellent person and friend.  We still miss him."

I just found this site and so must add my heartfelt statements about Fred, as he was such a special person.   I was around Fred through the years that I dated and then was marriend to Ted.  I remember Fred by his great and frequent laugh, his beautiful, outdoor-man tanned skin and the way he danced.  I never heard Fred say a bad word about another; Fred always seemed to be lovin life and lovin the fun.   Cheryl Moore
