La Grande High School Classes of 1962 - 1966
Richard passed away on October 17, 2004!

I remember Richard very well and kept in contact with him until his passing a couple of yrs ago.
He liked to be called " Dewey" and could be seen always with his camera.
After his car accident early in his adult life he was somewhat disabled and resided in a facility in Pendleton.
He would call me at least once a year and have me "guess" who it was ..
He made hook rugs and sold them to finance his favorite charity.
He was an Elvis fan and belonged to the fan club.
This took up a good part of his time.
He always sent Christmas cards and kept in contact with many of his classmates.
Dewey was a kind and loving man and passed away from a long term illness.
He had a rough life and yet he was always a friend and had something fun or funny to say.
I for one ....miss my friend.
The last reunion we attended both Richard and Bonnie Scott Wieden were there and both needed a ride home.
My husband and I readily agreed to do this..
we dropped Dewey at his apartment in Pendleton and Bonnie at her lovely home in Portland. We had a wonderful visit with both in transit.
that was the last time I saw either.
Rest in peace my dear friends..your job is done ..you made a real difference here on earth
and I will always remember your sweet faces.
