Jim was one of my best friends through most of our school years. Our families lived in the same duplex for a period of time. Jim and his dad joined with me on a number of pheassant hunts when we were in high school, and those were great fun.
I met up with him again a year or so before he passed in Joseph, Oregon and we had a nice visit. He was a great guy and a great friend, and I regret not spending more time with him when he moved back to Oregon from Alaska.
