Regarding sad news about our classmate, Jennifer Smith Fennell, passed away, due to an extended illness, on January 12, 2018. She’s survived by her son, Zeke and her daughter, Courtney and 2 grandchildren. Her husband, Floyd Fennell, preceded her in death.
I’ve been doing a little bit of reminiscing about my dear friend, Jennifer Smith. We spent a lot of time together practicing our routines for rally squad and leading cheers at the games. In the summer of 1961 we got to attend a Cheer Clinic at Oregon State University where we suffered many aches, pains and lots of sore muscles. But, we won a trophy for our efforts! We participated in lots of other fun activities, both in school and in extra curricular activities. Jennifer was a good student and was well liked by all. She had a great personality and nice smile. I have always treasured her friendship!
She attended our 10 year reunion in 1972. That was the last time
I saw her. When Jennifer didn’t attend the 50th Class Reunion, my husband, Don Lester, and I set out to try to find her. We were able to locate her daughter Courtney and her son, Zeke. But, sadly, Courtney told us that Jennifer had passed away from an extended illness on January 12, 2018.
I’m thankful for the many memories of Jr High and High School Days that I shared with my friend, Jennifer Smith! May she rest in peace.💗
