LaVonne Crisman (Gregory-DuBois) (1965)

Virgil joined the Navy immediately after graduation (along with Jerry Keffer) and spent 3 years at sea.  Upon his return home, he attended Eastern Oregon College.  He went to Portland, where he worked for Freightliner, painting trucks.  After a few years, he left there and began painting houses, which he did for about 15 years.  In 1989 he joined his father and brother and opened a paint store in Hillsboro, Oregon.  He worked there about 20 years, until ill health required him to retire. He loved animals, rescuing many dogs.  He also loved to garden, sharing his bounty with neighbors and friends, either fresh or in meals he enjoyed preparing.  He struggled with alcoholism much of his life and it eventually took a toll on his body, preventing him from recovering from an emergency surgery in Aug. 2013.  He left behind many friends and family who miss him.            LaVonne (Crisman) DuBois CL '65
