Most of the Class of '65 should remember Verlene as she died when we were just starting our Senior year....10/10/64. She was one of my best friends! She was not the most popular person in the class but she was one of the nicest! She had finally found happiness with Burt & was excited about their new life together when tragedy struck. It was an accidental discharge from a rifle during a deer hunt that took her from us! I think of her often & about all the things she missed by dying so very young. I look forward to seeing her again when we're in a much better place. Until then, may God be with you till we meet again.
I am not sure who posted the name information for Verlene, but it is incorrect. Verlene's name was Linda Verlene Fincher Marx. She is buried at Grandview Cemetery in LaGrande. Could someone correct it.
