Time to check out "WHAT'S Y'ALL'S SIGN?" (Upper left hand corner). Mine is: "Moon Pie Mar 21 - Apr 20 -- You're the type that spends a lot of time on the front porch. It's a cinch to recognize the physical appearance of Moon Pies. "Big" and "round" are the key words here. You should marry anybody who you can get remotely interested in. This year isn't going to be easy. This might be the year to think about aerobics. Maybe not." Seems to fit, wouldn't you say?!? We are about to enter the age of Chitlins (Jan 21 - Feb 19) and just completing the Okras - all the folks with upcoming birthdays.

Connie - Thanks for inviting us back to your house. You are a real sweetheart! And you are a brave soul too - after having us invade your home so many times last summer. But it sure was fun! And thanks for inviting Liz too. We will plan to go to the early 9:00 church service that Sunday so we can get to your house in Crawford and not miss anything.

Stay warm everybody! The "Sunny South" is about to go into the deep freeze for a couple of days.

Happy New Year's blessings to all.

Don

Gary, according to your chart "What's Yall's Sign", I am a boiled peanut. Dick is a boll weevil and it said no one in their "right mind" would ever marry a boll weevil. Yet again my sanity is being questioned. All my life I have had feelings of insignificance and now I know why---I am a boiled peanut. A very, very, very frozen one today.

Hey everybody.

I wondered why I have loved Catfish for all these years. Now I find out that I are one! Whiskers and all. I guess it takes one to know one.

Brrrr!!!! Our thermometer is at 10 degrees here in Marietta this morning. I can just imagine what it must be for those boll weevils and boiled peanuts in Ohio!

Is anybody headed to the Inauguration Tuesday?

Diane Harris (Moore)

Don, you are so funny! It's negative 13 degrees here this morning, and I am heading out the door to do important tasks. (Pick up prescription, groceries, go ice fishing....) Like I told Dick, I am so happy to have the luxury of a seat warmer in my car. It's quite shocking to slide onto your car seat at -13. It's not good for us boiled peanuts. My sweet boll weevil got home from Indy last night and has gone in to his office here. Our schools are closed though. And, no, I won't be at the inaugaration as I have to wash my hair that day. OK, the cold is obviously affecting my brain, so I'd better go. My long johns beckon. Seriously, everyone take care and keep warm. Love y'all.

DON, YOU MAY BE A CATFISH, BUT I AN'T NO ARMADILLO.

Donald Chandler

Yikes!!! -13 degrees below zero!!!??? Wow, Diane. I guess 10 above seems like a heatwave to you. In all of my 58 years in Georgia, the coldest I remember was (I think) -5 below, and that was 27 years ago in 1982. And the most snow... 9 inches during the Blizzard of '93. These southern bones of mine don't get along with winter too well. I'm ready for dogwoods and hummingbirds.

And I can understand too, Diane if you have to wash your hair and can not attend the Inauguration. First things first. I will be unable to go to Washington myself because I too have a prior commitment... to rearrange my sock drawer.

God Bless America!

Connie Morgan (White)

I join you Don (my fellow- catfish) in being ready for dogwoods and hummingbirds! Diane, I try to talk y'all into moving back to Georgia anytime that we talk. The weather is only one of its wonderful qualities.

Gary, I haven't made New Years resolutions in quite a while (since I had such a bad track record in keeping them). There is something about the new year tho that I always think of things that I really want to "do better". So far, I haven't done much better. I hope that you and Inez and any other resolution makers are sticking with them.

Who gets the credit (blame?) for the new jokes? Cute!

I sure enjoy hearing from those of you who contribute to this site! I hope more will add a comment occasionally as their time permits.

Take care and God bless.
Connie

Just taking a break to say "hi", nothing more. Hope everyone is well.

That's all folks.

I just got caught up on all the messages I have missed.
Gary I am wonderning now if I chose the wrong profession since I am a collard.
Connie Thank you for inviting us back to your home. We had so much fun at those meeting. I am looking forward to seeing everyone. Let me know what I need to bring.
Gary how are you doing on your New Years Resoluations? I just bought some Mona V that is supposed to be great and to help with weight loss. We will see.
Guess what I did this weekend. My grandaughter and I went to the Phillips Arena to see Celin Dion . It was a great concert. I have always wanted to see her. She does not come to this area often. I am not sure if she has every been hear before. It was also a memory my grandaughter and I will always have. Its great to be a grandmother, especially when your grandkids don't mind hanging out with their Nana.
I guess I had better get back to work. I am on floor duty at the office but not very much work going on. Calls are not comming in like they used to.
Love to all
Inez

Well, finally, I'm back online! My home phone and internet have been down most of the week. Sherron had her surgery on Monday and came home Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday mid-morning we lost all communication ability until Friday. I took off the whole week to help her and get some online stuff done that I can't do at work and wouldn't you know it - NO INTERNET!!! Oh, well, we both needed the rest. I'm batting about 500 on the resolutions. The Spondylitis kicked up toward the end of last week and curtailed my exercising. Not having Sherron fix my meals has wreaked havoc on my diet but have some how managed not to put on too many pounds this week. A little behind on my readings but hope to catch up today while enjoying the Sabbath. I'm determined to keep plugging away - for my own good. How about anyone else - how's the New Year treating you?? Glad everyone enjoyed(?) the new jokes. They were contributions from an external source. I don't know if anyone noticed but Roy Nation signed on and joined us. Welcome Roy!! Hope you will let us hear more from you. Hope everyone is doing well and being blessed mightily this New Year.

Diane Harris (Moore)

Gary, I somehow missed the news of Sherron's surgery. I hope that by now both of you are doing much, much better. Also, I did notice that Roy had signed on, and I was so delighted to hear back from him in response to a little "howdy" I sent to him. He was one sweet guy back then, and I'll bet he still is.

Everyone have a great day. Dick and I have promised to get lots done today, and so far, so good. Now, back to the coal mines. By the way, we had a heat wave yesterday when it reached 50 degrees. Felt great! It's back to a predicted 3 degrees however for Sunday A.M. Georgia beckons.

Hi All,
I just got my "invite" for February 22. Sounds G-R-E-A-T.
Wow, it has been cold here. I know Diane & Dick do not believe that since Ohio is "frozen". Ya'll are so entertaining with your messages. Inez, I am so glad you enjoyed that concert with your Grand Daughter. Aren't they great? I also like Celine Dion. I bet it was a blast.
Also, I am not sure I want to be any of those "signs". Sounds kinda crazy. Oh well, maybe one does fit me. Connie, thanks for "hosting" again. You are just great. We all gotta love you.
Judy

So good to be hearing from folks!
Roy Nation - glad you have signed on. Really would like to see you. Try to come to Crawford on Feb. 22 if you can. We all just sit around and talk and laugh. Phone # is 706-743-5212 if you need directions.
Thanks Judy for your sweet words. I love having y'all here (just trust you'll overlook all the things that need to be done)
Gary, I do hope Sherron is doing well.
Inez, your concert trip with your granddaughter sounds like much fun. Making those memories!
Just wanted to say "hi" to all. Have a good week.
God bless.

Thank you to all the well wishers - Sherron is doing well. I returned to work this morning after a week off and am still weeding throught the emails. Thanks to all of you who forwarded potential posts for the website. I'll have to do some editing and will try to post some in the near future. (Some may not make the censorship cut). I hope you all have a GREAT week.

As you can see from Gary's "those who have logged onto the site recently" list, I am right there at the top. OK, I guess it's time to fess up and come out of the closet. Yes, I visit the site often, perhaps too often, at least once a day, but usually more. There are exceptions, but not many. I have developed a severe "class of 1968" website habit. And Gary Grice, it's on account of you, and I will be grateful to you forever! Really, this little site has become the star of my bookmarks, getting more attention than my health sites, my news sites, my recipe sites, my history sites, and all my other favorite sites. Plus, I am not ashamed!

Really, it has been fun to check in with the site, and I am always so happy to see a new posting from someone, no matter how brief it might be. I don't always respond, but I always notice, and read every word.

So, I hope to find more little messages, even if brief. Like all of you, my life is pretty full up here, but there's just something about hearing from you good folks that cheers my heart. In that vein, I also want to extend thanks to you, Connie, for opening your home again for the Feb. get-together. I know everyone won't be able to come, but I sure hope that many will be there, and hopefully you are getting responses that say so. Dick and I are looking so, so forward to it.

Sorry to make this so long, but I'm snowed in today, and before I tackle my "snow day" projects, I just thought I'd write and say, "My name is Diane, and I am a class website junkie".

Love y'all

Diane - only once or twice a day?!? I check it at least 4 - 5 times a day! I'm always looking for ideas to improve the site and you just gave me an idea. What if we had a page for our favorite links - health, religion, sports, etc. Maybe we could use this as an excuse, uh, I mean an agenda for a get together. I know I am often introduced to websites that others frequent that I wish I had known about sooner. Just something to consider. What does everyone think?
For instance, here is an link to reading through the Bible.
Daily Bible Reading.

I wonder how an image looks?

This is just a test, but why not have a little fun at Dennis's expense.

01/27/09 02:44 PM #380

Diane Harris (Moore)

Yes, but Gary, when you check the website you are already at your desk WORKING and earning an actual income. I on the other hand, must make a purposeful trip to my desk under the guise of "checking e-mail from my kids", or "doing research", or "checking to diagnose my latest illness", etc. And unfortunately I am earning no income along the way. (Sorry, honey) I do like the idea of the links. I have many that I frequent. The one I am using right now for my study is www.BibleYear.com For travel, my favorite is www.tripadvisor.com

Gary, how come I can't get my sites that I just listed to be highlighted like yours were? Yoda, (I mean "Gary") please help.

Oh,the comic is funny too. Dennis, how you suffer! You know what they say, we only tease those we love most.

Tereesa Stevens (Minish)

Glad to hear that everyone is still communicating. Gary I am sorry that I did not know about Sharon's surgery. I hope she is doing much better and that you were a very good nurse.

Diane and Dick please try to stay unfrozen so you can get back to Georgia. I was sorry to hear about Mr. Bill you and your family have been in my prayers.

Connie, thank you for inviting us to your home again. I hope to make it if I can find someone to cover my shift at the hospital===maybe this old Crawfish can find someone hanging around the water cooler.

Inez I know that you had a wonderful time at the concert. I recently enjoyed the "Dancing with the Stars" performace in Atlanta. It is really nice when the country girls get to go to the big city!!!

Hope to see everyone on Feb 22

Greetings and salutations! How many veterans received that letter from ye ole draft board?
I trust everyone is having a great week. Here is a link that I think most of you will enjoy and some probably listen to every morning. Today's Soapbox (Tuesday - You Might As Well Dance)was especially inspiring.
I almost forgot - as special SHOUT OUT to all those veterans that updated their profiles! If you know of one who has not updated their profile, let me know their branch of service and I'll get their page updated.
