Julie Fleming (Graham)

Hi, Janet,

Sorry I did not make it to the Olive Garden to see you.  I was in Raleigh, N.C. and did not even know about the get together until you were back in Texas.  I heard you guys had a great time and that you were the life of the party!  See you next time.

thanks Julie.  I did have a GREAT time with everyone.  It was great seeing them all.  I am sorry I missed you but maybe next time, I will be able to give more notice.  I am not sure if I will be coming home this year for the holidays.  My family is talking about going to Mary's in Ohio for Christmas.  Not sure if I will be able to go, but we will see.  Time and money -- key factors LOL.

Hope to see you all soon

Janet

Hi Everybody---

I am not able to make the get together this weekend, but I sure wish I could!!!  I hope everyone has a enjoyable time.

Not much new with me.  I was rear-ended a couple of weeks ago and it was very minor.  However, a couple of days later I started to have back, neck, shoulder and arm issues.  I was so fearful something had come undone from the prvious neck/spinal surgery but two ct scans, and a MRI are not showing that at this time, a big relif!!  Have appointment with neuoresurgeon next week to determine for sure what is going on.

Lamar and I have been busy with fall festivals, did the big Apple Festival in Ellijay last weekend.

Y'all have fun this weekend!

Had a great week with classmates. Had our annual camping trip with Debbie , Joel, Margie and David this week and just got home from the 69-70 class reunion. Lots of fun at both saw some people i hadnt seen since i graduated. Joe Gormam it was good to see you Roland, Sandra and all the ones from the class of 70. The visit from the crew from the class of 68 was a nice surprise to. We understand the class of 61 was in the new building, saw the bus from the old folks home come pick them up about 8 oclock they just couldnt hang with us young people. We should get together more often it was lots of fun.

It was wonderful to see all you Class of 69 folks last night -- we definitely need to have these "joint" efforts more often!  Just had not thought of seeing so many from the "beautiful downtown Devil's Pond" neighborhood -- Warren, Joe, Travis -- we all remember those neighborhood gatherins and how good the "good old days" were back then.  It's a shame neighbors and neighborhoods aren't like that now, huh?  I'll try to get my photos up soon -- got to find the cord to upload from the camera -- step backwards in my mind, but since I can't do it from the computer, I'll have to punt!  Again, I am so glad we did the joint reunion and we'll do it again!!!!

That was a lot of fun seeing and talking to some other class mates from other years.

Most of them I had not seen in years.

I'm trying to get the pictures added in new fold here, soon.

From Janice Facebook page.
I want to thank each of you who have called and come during the past couple of days. This is hard to write, so forgive me if it gets muddled and confusing. First, to clear up any confusion, I’ll tell you as much as I know about the accident. Glen went for a walk on Monday, late evening. He was carrying his pistol in his pocket as usual. He was an expert marksman and was always careful, but something went terribly wrong. The investigators said they found no reason to suspect that anyone attacked him, but for some reason, he apparently had the gun out or it slipped out of his pocket or something. It fired, and he was hit. Death was probably instant. He was on the sidewalk within a very short distance of the house.
At this time in his life, Glen was probably the most happy and content that I’ve ever known him. He had Tammy, soul mate and love of his life, a career that he found challenging and fulfilling with a company and co-workers that he enjoyed, two great boys on whom he doted, and a deep faith in God that nourished and sustained him. As his Mom, I’m struggling this all the “whys” in dealing with his accident, but I find comfort in the knowledge that his last thoughts were those of a content and happy man who had been loved by many.
We still don’t have much information on arrangements Glen wanted to be an organ and tissue donor, and we are honoring those wishes. I’ll try to get word to you all as we learn more. Please pass this information along to anyone else that you think may be interested.
Right now, Tammy and the boys are at their home in Lawrenceville. We are all trying to be with her every minute, but we are also coming back and forth to our homes too. Tonya came in yesterday and is also splitting her time between the two places. Once Tammy can wrap things up enough to come, she and the boys will be here with us in Winterville. Tammy’s parents have agreed to be here with us as much as possible, too.
On Thursday morning, Mitchell (Glen’s older son) must receive a medical treatment at Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta. By late Thursday afternoon we all hope to be here at our home until after the funeral. If you drop by before Thursday I may miss you, but some of the family has been able to be here so far, so you will probably find someone here anytime. I apologize for not being here, but we will be with Tammy as much as possible.
At this time, plans are to take Glen to Lord and Stevens West at 1211 Jimmy Daniel Rd., Bogart. GA. This is just off of Highway 316 in Oconee County and will be convenient for both his family here and his friends in Gwinnett County. We know the funeral can’t take place before Friday or Saturday, but will get details out as soon as we can.
There has been some suggestion that we establish a medical fund for the boys in lieu of flowers. That is a definite possibility, but Tammy will make that decision and we will let you know.
Please keep us all in your prayers. I’ll get more info to you when I can.

I just spoke with Janice a few minutes ago.  She and Gerry are on their way back to Lawrenceville but plan to come back to Winterville to stay tomorrow sometime.

Funeral arrangements have been made.  Visitation will be from 6 PM til 8 PM Friday, November 11, at Lord & Stephens WEST, just off Highway 316 on Jimmy Daniels Road.  The funeral will be held Saturday, at Lord & Stephens WEST at 1 PM.

Janice asked that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a medical fund which has been established for Glen's children, Mitchell and Daniel, at the Commercial Bank in Crawford.   Donations can be made to the Gabriel Children Medical Fund at the bank, or sent to Janice at home (568 Smithsonia Road, Winterville, GA  30683).

She sends her thanks for all your calls, notes, and prayers for her and the family during this difficult time.  I know she appreciates it and loves you all.

Janet Argo (Jacobson)

Hi All

I am so sorry to hear about Janice's loss.  I am just now able to write on here as I had to have emergency eye surgery last Tues.  I found out on Oct 31 that I had a detached retina in my right eye.  I am out of work for now and dont know when I will be able to return.

Update on Mother:  Most of you might know already that she fell and broke her hip a few weeks ago. Went thru a hip replacement fine.  Monday, Oct 31, she had a pace maker put is and so far so good.

My heart goes out to Janice and her family. Forgive me for not writing sooner or more but it is difficult with one eye.  I am still partially blind in my rt eye but it''s getting better every day.

Prayers go out to you Janice and to your family.

Janet

Gloria Janice Nation (Gabriel)

I just wanted to thank everhyone for your support.  Your thoughts and prayers have meant more than you can ever know.

I'd like to say we are doing fine, but of course, you'd know that i'd be lying.  We find comfort, however, in your words, prayers, calls, and visits.

It is about 5:00 a m.  Gerry and I are with Tammy and the kids tonight and should be home in a few hours.  The house is quiet and my mind won't turn off, but it is very comforting to me to be close to them in case they need us.

I've always heard the God doesn't put more on us than we can stand so just keep praying, especially for these bablies who have lost their father.

Love you all.  Hope to see you soon!

Janice
