Laura Kohut (Douglass)

Congradulations Marie and Chuck for such a long-lasting relationship. And you still like him! Good for you!

I agree, Melissa looked hot in the tux but when didn't she look hot? I remember going to the Junior prom more than the Senior one. Funny, I was wearing a "country girl" floral prom gown with little white gloves to the Junior prom, and a fitted, one-shouldered, cut to the hip black dress to the Senior prom. Oh, what a difference a year makes!

And Lynn Swanson Lavery: you, me, and Melissa have a date at the reunion to hear the juicy details!

Laura, just ply me with a cocktail or two, and I'll spill! Brian and I just got back in from celebrating our 26th anniversary. FYI, our first "date" was my 18th birthday, so it's been over 30 years of togetherness!

Barbara Searles (Vaillancourt)

Hi Melissa,
I'll tell you my prom story.

We borrowed an orange VW from my dates brother-in-law and left the motorcycle with him to go to the prom ( I
refused to go to the prom on my dates motorcycle I've rode on the bike in a mini skirt but refused to ride in a gown!).

As we drove to The Latern Restaurant out by the Lake, the right front axle went on the car. My date called his brother-in-law for help. His brother-in-law arrived on my dates motorcycle. My date jumped on the motorcycle to go and find another car that we could use to go to the prom. He looked so funny driving his motorcylce in his long tailed tux!

He came back in record time in his PePe's classic chevy caprice and we were not very late for dinner. There were alot of people at The Latern that night for dinner. Were you one of them or anyone reading this?

Our best friend Pete (Pierre Mailhot) wore a lime green tux to the prom and was dumped that night by the girl he went with because she got back together with her x boyfriend at the prom. I can't remember the girl does anyone else remember her?

After the prom we needed to fill PePe's car with gas and accidently knocked over the pyramid of oil cans in the gas station as we pulled in for gas. The attendant came running out yelling at us, so we left and went somewhere else on South Willow for gas. We were starving from dancing all night so we went to McDonalds to eat. That was before drive thru windows. We had to go in all dressed up! We stayed out most of the night.

The next morning PePe asked my sweetheart in his french accent "What you do to my car?" My darling did not know what to say because we did go parking in PePe's car but how would he know that?

Pepe replied "It has never run so good." "What you do?"

My date explained to me that when he went to get the car he did not want to keep me waiting so he nailed the gas pedal and a hugh cloud of black smoke came out of the car and he left a trail of black all the way down the road. It seems that he blew out all the carbon in PePe's car and the car ran better after we took it to the prom.

Have you figured out my date's first name yet? Lucile Champagne knows him because he is her cousin. Pierre Mailhot knows him because we are still best friends.

Good luck figuring it out!
Barbara

When you guess I'll tell you more!!

Dear Scott Ireland,

I hope you can help me with a project near and dear to my heart. Indeed, my very reputation may depend on its success. I've been informed you work with a gentleman, last named Vaillancourt. He is married to a mysterious woman named Barbara. Any information you are able to supply would be helpful. I trust I can depend on your discretion.

Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Melissa J. Turner
Master Sleuth

Melissa Turner

Glenn was it too much to ask? A few miserly photos? (not exactly a kidney) And those of you who say Glenn caved (You know who you are,Rob Ferendo!) I say…Give the public what it wants.

Back to Glenn: Thank you, darling. Ya'll look gorgeous!

06/14/09 11:58 AM #49

Glenn Lianos

Well Melissa...I have 2 kidneys and only one good picture...you do the math!

06/14/09 12:26 PM #50

Lyn Swanson (Lavery)

Glenn, thank you! You and your family are beautiful. I'm going to have to do some photoshopping to improve my pictures. And thank you Melissa for encouraging him. As for the detective work, maybe Barbara's beau was a class or two ahead of us. I know I have other year books in my office, but we're doing some major renovation and I can't get to them right now, unless I could convince one of my boys to snake themselves between some cartons to the bookcases! Tune in later!

I think I know who it is...As for Melissa and Laura. I think every guy had a crush on them. I had several over the 4 years.....and Laura... you in that black dress at Sr prom..DAMN you were smokin hot and while the tux was cute. I went the Sr prom with Melissa and her dress was backless...OUCH

The gig is up Barbara (Of course until you said he worked with me I did not figure it out???). The name of your husband is....Don Vaillancourt. I see Don almost every morning. He is a great guy (Not sure he'd say the same about me, he has seen a different side of me).
I hope this provides some relief Mellissa.......

I'd like to suggest a class reunion project for anyone who wants to participate. I would be happy to lend out my yearbook with ONE CONDITION. You need to SIGN IT and mail it back to me or to someone else on the message forum who would like to borrow it. Oops, that's two conditions. Karen (Dobrowski), I'll mail it to you first, then you can send it to Steve (Hernandez). Steve, you've already used the 'lost it in a flood' excuse (which is only marginally better than 'my dog ate it'), so don't lose it :)

This is for Barbara Searles:

I'm thinking you are married to a man...a great guy in fact, named...let me think....It starts with a D....Danny?...no, that's not it....David?..too biblical...D.d.d.d.Donald?...close, but I think he goes by Don. Yes, that's it. Don! Don Vaillancourt. There! Mystery solved.

(Thank you, Mr.Ireland.)

Donna Keenan (Grady)

I wish we could have an on line chat...we would have a blast!

06/15/09 11:18 PM #56

Glenn Lianos

Wow! Melis...you're quite a sleuth. I bet you didn't need any help at all... Miss Keenan. There probably is way to do an online chat...but I 'm not that one. It took me 2 months just figure out profile and pictures.

06/15/09 11:28 PM #57

Donna Keenan (Grady)

Miss Keenan..I laughed out loud. Someone must know how to set that up. I work nights (tonight is my night off). But if I was around I would love to "live chat". Miss Keenan..God I feel so old!

Mr Borgatti
He called me that? I don't remember that. I do remember whipping everyone's butt on current event trivia. My daughter went to Southside and he still had the nickname of Mr. Ittagrob

Karen Dobrowski (Hernandez)

Thanks, Colette! I'd love to look at it and PROMISE to get it right back to you - signed as required. Nice to hear from you - we haven't run into each other lately! Hope you're well and happy.

Hey Donna...are you on Facebook? could always do the online IM there...though it is not the most reliable from my experience..then just post a message here with a proposed meeting time...But I'll have to log in from Hawaii, as I am leaving on Monday for 2 weeks! (tough life...I know!)

06/17/09 01:08 PM #61

Donna Keenan (Grady)

My schedule is so screwy at the PD...I would probably never be on line when everyone else was. Have a blast in Hawaii, poor baby!

Barbara Searles (Vaillancourt)

Hello Classmates,
We are graduating 505 students from Manchester West High School this year. I do appologize for working for the enemy. They were our biggest rivals after all.
My nephew graduated from Memorial 2 years ago and his class set a record of 501 students. Now he is fighting the war in Iraq.
Does anyone remember how many in the class of 1979? I don't feel like counting. We had a hugh class in 79 too, I do not know the half of you!

To Melissa Keenan

Thank you for helping out Melissa, it was fun while it lasted! Let's sit together at the party, I would like to get to know you better. Don says your a great guy.
Great pictures of you and your family on the website. You still look great. I have a picture of Don and I from the prom that I would like to show off but do not have a scanner. So I'll bring it to the party if I cannot figure out how to get it onto the website.

I have a suggestion for you computer literate people. You should Skype each other. It's a great way to talk face to face. (like the jetsons cartoon).
