Howard was a very shy person. I think he got picked on a lot because of that. He was always very nice to others, and when one-on-one, was quite conversational. Does anyone know the facts surrounding his death?
I agree and I was fortunate enough to have several one on one conversations with him. I felt so sorry for him because idiots picked on him. I hope he found happiness he deserved it and so much more. It's sad news like this that makes me want to show up at the reunion to see how fat and dumpy the guys who tormented him have gotten. That will be justice.
I went to school with Howard from the 1st grade thru high school. We worked together farming from time to time. My mother sent me his obit years ago and he had died of a heart attack. Howard and Raymond (his older brother) were sweet men. They were also best friends. Howard was a member of the Youth for Christ group in High School and had a quiet Love for his Savior. He was shy and any time you could get him to talk he had a kind of dead pan humor. He was in his area on the farm and in the Milk barn. He was skinny but he could work like no one else and he never complained. God bless you Howard.
Howard was as thin as I was chubby, and as I recall we both got teased (to put it mildly); but Howard never showed that it bothered him. He was a very sweet person with never a bad word about anyone. I was shocked when I read his obituary in the paper when he had a heart attack and died. It seemed to be shortly after high school. Tho his life was short, I think he made an impact on this old world. Darla E. Oliver
I also remember Howard. We usually sat close to each other because my last name was Ireland and his started with H(Holmes). I found him to be quiet but friendly when you got to know him. I know he was a Christian. I know he is in heaven now. He can't be picked on any more. I was sorry to hear of his passing on this web site. Leona (Ireland) Cameron
