I think that is a good idea for James and Steve's band. I have heard them alot and they have a good song list that consist of some classics that we all know, can dance to, and can appreciate. Also, just to throw it out, there is a place here in Dallas (NC) Tavern on the Square that has both indoor and outdoor areas with tables outside along with a stage and dance area. They also offer steak/shrimp at a reasonable price. This summer it was $15.00 per person which included your sides (salad and a vegetable)and bread too. It is a historic house that has been remodeled. Pretty nice and casual. The school sounds good to. Would bring back some memories. I would like to see a good turn out for this reunion. Let's try to bring the walls down and appreciate each other as we have grown older, wiser and more mature. Best wishes to everyone.

Great ideas!!! Tailgate for the Friday nite game then Saturday nite party, either at the school or Reggie Hinkles place. Firecreek is great choice for band. Maybe we can get block of rooms at Holiday Inn Express between Mt Holly and Belmont for people from out of town.

Keeping the cost down is a must. Let's plan it all ourselves....no plan-your-reunion-for-ya companies involved! Somewhere like the school would be kewl....James and Steve's band, heck yes!

I have not attended a class reunion yet. 30th will be my year to attend. Where ever it is at I will be there. School sounds good to me with Steve's band.

Concerning the seriously-injured EG football player from North Gaston game....
I went to see Chris Williams yesterday but he's still in ICU. I did talk to his dad and the doctors seem to think he will have a full recovery. They are hoping that he will be into a regular room either today or tomorrow. He's not out of the woods yet, but everyone seem pretty up beat. He was really apprecative with all the concerns and prayers from the community. Just continue to keep him and his family your thoughts and prayers. I'll probably go and see him tomorrow. I had the opportunity to coach him for three years and he a great young man. Just thought I'd give a little update.

Hey Richard, thanks for the update. I didn't make it to the game Friday, but my son, Austin, plays in the band for North Gaston and he said everybody was very concerned about Chris. He and his family are most definitely in my prayers. Jan

Hi Guys,

I went to Carlette's High School reunion in Mount Vernon Virginia a few weeks ago and they arranged a school tour for family on Saturday afternoon for those that wanted to join. That was nice as they could take a look at the old stomping grounds and the they had a planned reception/dinner with a dj that evening. It was through a reunion company and was a little expensive.

Since I have not been to one of our reunions yet I really look forward to seeing everyone. The Whitewater Center in Mount Holly might be a possibility as well? Depends on what everyone would like to do.

Maybe a few events like an informal gathering on Friday night and then more on Saturday.

Anyway Russ - I love this web site - I haven't heard some of these names in 30 years. Man I guess that makes me old.

WE are all getting older (sometimes maybe not wiser) and our teachers are older than us. Lori and I think that we should do something that we can invite our teachers and staff of EG to. They helped mold us into who we are. I for one would like to thank some of them for their wisdom and guidance in my formative years and this would be a golden opportunity to do just that. If we could swing a gig at the school house, a lot of them may be encouraged to attend. Just our thoughts. Tell us what you think......

Thanks Russell for all your hard work on this great website.

I think the White Water Center would be a good place for the 30 year reunion. The school would also be a good place.

A great time was had by all in attendance tonight at City Cafe as we bounced around some ideas for our 30th reunion!!! We're trying to make it as cost efficient as possible, seeing as half the country is out of work right now. We're looking at having a Friday night tailgate event at EG's Homecoming game next year followed by a more "intimate" gathering at whatever venue is finally decided on. It was so great to see all of you who were there! Many of us still live so close to each other, but never seem to get together...let's rectify that situation starting tonight! We talked about getting together to have dinner once a month or so. So if anyone is up for that, post a note on here - the date, the time, the place, and whoever wants to show up can....the more the merrier. Thanks, guys - Tim and I really enjoyed it !!!!

Had a great time getting to see all the ones that showed up tonight for our first reunion planning meeting. Had some fun remembering the good old days. Lot of great suggestions, still have plenty of time to decide. Looking forward to the next one. We were there for two hours just talking - great time. While we were there, Tim and Lori Bingham mentioned something about maybe getting together once a month or so. This would be for whoever wanted to come. Time, date or place not discussed but I thought this was a great idea. Looking forward to seeing more of you at the next one.

Maria, there's no such thing as asking for prayer too often. It's where we do our best - on our knees. Please know that the family is surely in my prayers now and in the days to come.

When you get time, click on "edit profile" here on the homepage and take a look at some of the new questions there. The company that hosts this site made these changes in hopes of making our profiles more interesting to others. Don't forget to hit "save changes" after you finish.

Wow, 2008 flew by for me! I wanted to tell all of you that this class website has been an absolute blast to work on! Admittedly, living in Alabama all these years has probably made me more sentimental and nostalgic than most. I hope this website has helped you, as it has me, re-live many of the great memories we shared. We certainly have countless reasons to be proud of our class, and I'm reminded of that every time I click around on this site. Happy New Year, and let's continue to build interest in our 30-year reunion. There's no reason why this one can't be our biggest and best ever!

Good Morning !!!!
This morning when I wakened
And saw the sun above,
I softly said, ' Good morning , Lord ,
Bless everyone I love'

Right away I thought of you
And said a loving prayer ,
That He would bless you specially ,
And keep you free from care .
I thought of all the happiness
A day could hold in store,
I wished it all for you because
No one deserves it more .
I felt so warm and good inside,
My heart was all aglow ..
I know God heard my prayers for you ,
He hears them all, you know.
