Jim Blake Thompson entered into eternal rest Saturday, February 28, 2009.

 

He was the husband of Stacey Hall Thompson.

Mr. Thompson was born on August 13, 1947 in Tupelo, Mississippi, a son of Eldridge C. Thompson and Willie Mae Gaughf Thompson. He will be remembered for his passion and love of music, and his sense of humor.

Jim never met a stranger. He served in the United States Army in Germany and in Vietnam and was exposed to Agent Orange. He attended the Citadel and Coastal Carolina Colleges.

Surviving are his wife of Summerville; two daughters, Shae Thompson of Little River, and Kimberly McCants of Beaufort; two brothers, John G. Thompson of Surfside Beach, and William Keith Thompson of North Litchfield Beach; one sister, Adelia Ann McAndrews of Garden City; three grandchildren, Megan McCumbee, Kyle McCumbee and Kelsey Gillespie; two nieces, Aimee Terhart and Grayson Maughan; two nephews, Blake Thompson and Patrick McAndrews; a mother-in-law, Nita Dixon of Winter Park, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Lorey Dixon of Casselberry, Fla.

The relatives and friends of Stacey and Jim Thompson are invited to attend his graveside service at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009 in Beaufort National Cemetery, with Military Honors.

Harold Dwaine Jackson Jr.

I barely knew him.  What little I knew about him made me think he was a very good fellow clasmate.
