Gerald (Jerry) Thomas

Speaking of the Ridgeview Rebels' football team...I had gotten "mono" (and NO it was definitely not from kissing anyone..only in my dreams) and missed a copule of our games, but I remember being told that for some reason Dave Aitken punted (!) for us on this occasion and the ball actually went backward ! Do any of you Rebels remember this ? ( other than Erricson...he remembers everything it seems )

Actually, I thoght Kay Rutherford was in the mascot suit..

Diane Raymond (Ball)

Sorry, Jerry Thomas, but this mascot is me.  Yes, Kay Rutherford was a mascot, but she took over after Claire and myself.

By the way, everyone, the Mascot's name is/was "Wee-sock-um"  :D

The last address we had for Tim Hewlett was in Fair Oaks. Unfortunately that postcard had been returned. HELP

Larry Eades was a builging contractor in Napa. He built his own home on Coombsville Rd out past Silverado back in the late 70s  early 80s. I haven't spoken with him since the 80s but he may still be contracting in Napa. Larry and I coached Fly League baseball together when our sons played.

Hi Bob Benning:

Here's an update on Missing Classmates:

Timothy Jack Hewlett married Susan F McNabb in 1965 and divorced in 1976. They had two children. I found his son and left a message today asking him to call me or give my phone number to his dad.

I found addresses that I believe to be correct and  sent letters to Maie Visnapuu Ugalde, Joe Potts, and Mike Soon. I haven't heard back in two weeks.

Have not heard back from George Gibson (wife Patsy Wilkerson). I had left a message with his son-in-law and her Facebook page a week ago. I believe they are still in Napa.

I have an address for Chester Briles and will send a letter today.

Can't find Elaine Bachelor.

I believe I found Deanna Mullen, now married to a (Unknown first name) Kuper. Left a message on her Facebook last week. No response yet. I have an address for her and will send a letter today.

Lynn Muzzy, married to Janice  Jensen: I found him with a Nevada phone number. Left two messages for him to call. The last call was this morning.

Debbie,

Brian Loftus lives in American Canyon.  I have talked to him, he said he does not want to go to the reunion.  Side note, his wife (Ellen) had a stroke several months ago.

Dale McCarty married Sally Merrian (sp?) and I believe they moved to Washington State when Mare Island closed.

The two Napa High Mascots were Lucille Cameron and Kay Rutherford according to the yearbook.

Zee..  Go back a few pages in the yearbook and you will see Diane and Claire sitting on a bench.  I believe it says FOOTBALL MASCOTS.

Thanks, Margo!  I don't believe all this.

Margo you are right on page 102  it does say that Claire and Diane were the Football Mascots.  I was going off of page 109 where the colored picture is and it just says the mascots were Lucille and Kay.  So I guess the gals have to figure out to wore those crazy outfits.  It just shows the outfits on page 109.  I really didn't pay attention on what went on in high school. SORRY

Hello Classmates,

As of today May 10th we have a total of 287 paid reservations for our reunion next Saturday, May 17th....get ready to party and visit with everyone!!!   Remember on Sunday we have a picnic and a flyer with all that information will be printed for you to pick up at the reunion.

Get your dancing shoes on and rest up this week !!!!

Burt --

Maybe they're saving something for the reunion.

Maybe not everyone lives in the boonies & is desparate for human connections -- i.e. - they have a life.

For my part, I broke my wrist on Wed. & it's hard to type.

For your part, tell 'em what A.B. stands for & where it really came from -- (not the sanitized version).

See you all in a week.

05/10/14 11:48 AM #189

Burton (Burt) Williams

Ha.  I do live on the very edge with very little human contact.

I'll gladly share the A.B. story which is proof of 'what you say sticks'.

But now that we have you back, wrist and all, the forum can progress from the mundane.

Hope the wrist break is minor.

Heal up for the football throws we expect at the picnic from an old Reb QB...

I am bringing a Hula Hoop to the picnic. You guys bring the pig skin. If anyone wants to bring something from the good old days please do. Now bulk up on the Geritol, get plenty of rest and be prepared for a great time in the Old Town that weekend!

I will share an embrassing moment from my Silverado Days.  We were having a dance in the gym when all of a sudden I found my skirt down around my ankles. What did I do you might ask? I sat down on it and refused to get up until the dance was over which thank goodness was only one more song away. To this day I have a fear of wearing a skirt!

Do any of the men know if Tom Fotinos, Dean of boys, had a pet peeve?

If you want to hear some stories - come on over to our Facebook page: Napa High School Reunion - Class of 1964. The "time machine" is pumping out a little history.

Margo Lanpheir (Holland)

I love that Time Machine , good job.  I found some class photos from way back when...... I think I found 4-5 of you guys/gals that went to Federal Terrace Elementary School.

05/11/14 12:15 PM #194

Diane Raymond (Ball)

I agree with Margo.  The Time Machine is great and it's a great way to get people talking and interested in our 50th Reunion.  Great job, Debbie!

Diane Raymond (Ball)

Margo,

I went to Federal Terrace up through 3rd Grade.  I was really surprised and pleased that it is still up and running, when I met a teacher, at a workshop, who teaches there.  :)

Diane,

I attended Federal Terrace third and fourth grades, maybe even second grade.  I started fifth grade there, went about a week and we moved to Napa and I got another week off before starting school in Napa.  That's back when Napa classes started several weeks later than other schools so that the kids could, supposedly, pick grapes.  "Common knowledge" had it that most of the kids were picking grapes and prunes in early September.  That stopped when Mickey Mikolajcik (John Mikolajcik senior) and was on the AC school board before unification and the Napa Valley unified board after unificatioin, had the superintendent do a survey and found that only a couple of kids were actually picking grapes or prunes ...  Next year school started right after Labor Day.  John Mikolajcik junior was in the class of 1963.
