No words can express the sadness the class of '62 feels in the passing of Jon.  I remember him from the second grade.  He was everyone's friend and a great all around person.  May God surround Charlotte and his family.

Charlotte, I'm so sorry to hear about Jon. I've known him since our junior high days at Northgate and he was one of the greatest guys in our class. We were good friends and had a lot of fun together. A great classmate a super teammate in basketball and just all-around special guy. My heart goes out to you and your family. I know what you and Jon both have been through and he couldn't have had a better caretaker during this than you. My heart goes out to you and your family. God bless.

Jon and Charlotte have been that HS couple that we all knew and we expected them to live their lives together. It is sad hear that Jon has died. In our HS days he was a leader, a star athlete, a friend to most of us and truly devoted to Charlotte. He will be missed but always remembered. May God comfort Charlotte and their family during this sad time.

One of our classmates said it perfectically. " He was one of the good guys." Jon and Charlotte were both part of my group of friends at Northgate and NKCHS. One trait of Jon's was that he always wanted to know what you were doing and very seldom talked about himself. That is rare. Charlotte always had a a smile and was always a fun and happy  person. Those are my memories. I know that Charlotte and Jon's family have had an extremely rough go with Jon's illness. There is no doubt in my mind that there is a special place in heaven for wives like you Charlotte.  I will always remember the good times with my close friends growing up. Thank you both for being part of that. Jim

Jon was always a friend to everyone. We lived just across North Oak from each other in grade school and would aften ride our bikes together after school in 4th and 5th grade. I remember working together on his Class President election "campaign" at NKCHS. It's very sad to see several of our classmates leave us every year now. Charlotte, we are so sorry for your loss.

Chooie so sad that his life ended like this.  You both were a big part of my (and many others)  high school years.  I think everyone dreamed of having Jon as their boyfriend.  Chooie he chose "the cream of the crop."  You are in my heart today.  Jon heal and know you will be missed.   Much love to you,  Chooie and your family. Love,  Martye

Jon and I were often bumping heads from sports to student government.  And oddly we ended up at NKC hospital at the same time on several occasions. . .where Charlotte was also a nurse. . .so glad about privacy protocols.  And the last surprise encounter was in the parking lot at Cascone's after dropping off our wives at the door in that freak storm that put us all in darkness.  "I thought my SUV was going to lift off," he said, as we ran to the restaurant.  And afterwards when he turned the mike over to Jim Shanks and acknowledged his disease, he did it with dignity and humility, traits no illness could take from him.  Here was a man. . .of whom all could be proud.

A born leader, an outstanding athlete and respected by all.  Like Jim and others said:  "One of the good guys". It was a privilege and an honor knowing Jon. Praying for Charlotte and family.

Jon was one of a kind.  Good at everything, everyone thought the world of him, and one of the nicest guys I knew!  Married to Charlotte, who was exactly like Jon, everyone loved her, friendly to everyone.   The perfect match together!  Prayers for Charlotte and family, a great man has gone to the next level!  He will be missed by everyone who knew him!
