Don Stevens

We were recently informed that Don had passed away in 2014.  Following is a copy of his obituary:

Don G. Stevens

Don G. Stevens, 70 of Springfield, MO passed away peacefully at 5:00 am Saturday, July 12, 2014 in his home.

Don was born on February 26, 1944 in Albany, MO to Gilbert Jackson and Bertha Elizabeth Stevens. He graduated from North Kansas City, MO High School in 1962. Don married Sharon Edwards in 1962. She preceded him in death in 1991. Don worked for Hartman and Co. for many years. After retirement, he went to work for Ozark Shooters Sports Complex. Don thought of both of these jobs as more then that. He loved the people he worked with and they were like his extended family. On November 18, 1995 Don married April Anthony (Stevens). Don had four children that he loved and raised.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, the National Rifle Association, and Ozark Shooters Sports Complex. Don loved fishing, hunting, working in his shop, trap shooting and car racing. He had his own race car in the late 1960's and loved racing and competing. He and his son always looked forward to watching NASCAR together.

In addition to his first wife and father, Don was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Herb Lawson.

He is survived by his wife, April Stevens of the home; his mother, Elizabeth Leteux of Springfield; three daughters, Dawn Bush and husband, Allen of Kansas City, MO, Debra Crum and husband, John of Bentonville, AR, and Ashley Harris and husband, Russell of Fair Grove, MO; son, Andrew Stevens of Springfield; grandchildren, Stephenee and Sean Crum and a grandson on the way, Andon Harris; and a sister, Jacqueline Leathers of Independence, MO.
