My brother was one of the kindest people I ever met in my life.  He had a heart of gold.  He served during the Vietnam War at Tripler Hospital in Hawaii.  He counseled those who were wounded and those dealing with mental issues as a result of the War.  This was very tough on him as he internalized all their problems....not something you would wish on someone who was soft hearted like him.  He was a changed person after that experience.  Always within himself.  He married a beautiful lady later in his life.  Unfortunately, she had a stroke and lost the use of one of her arms.  She spent a great deal of time in a hospital in Texas.  It was during that time that Gale had an aortic aneurysm and spent much time in Veterans Hospital.  He was never able to work again and never saw his wife again.  The last time I saw him, they had him paralyzed due to all the tubes that were necessary to keep him alive.  Even so, he was trying to speak to me.  I'll never know in this life what he was trying to convey but I know he is in Heaven and I'll either find out then or it won't matter.   Gale was very close to our Mother and loved her dearly.  Our Dad passed in 2007 and they lay side by side now, Resting in the arms of the Lord in McCullough Cemetery, Triplett, Mo.  Our GGGrandfather founded the town so that was always special to us.                                                                                                                                When I was in Rochester Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York a few years ago in ICU, in a very touchy situation, I woke to find him standing beside my bed.  Only for an instant but he was there.  That was an answer to a 'deal' that we had made.  I love you and miss you Gale.  Heaven is Blessed to have you.

Gale, Phil Graves, and I hung out together quite a bit our junior year.  In Mr. Dunlap's American History class, he always sat by the window which was right by the steam radiator.  Gale would often close his eyes for a short nap and was rudely awakened by Mr. Dunlap's eraser bouncing off his head.  Gale was really shy at school and that was the main reason we three got together since we were all a little shy.  He did have a wicked sense of humor and an engaging smile.

I think that's so neat that you saw your brother, Gale, while you were in the hospital in Rochester. It confirms to me that you will see your dear brother on the other side. We are fortunate indeed.
