Marti and I were roommates at ACU, where she introduced me to my husband Jim on a blind date. While at ACU, she also met her husband, Steve Paxton. Marti and Steve have three precious daughters, and at the time of her death, she had 1 grandson who she just adored. They lived in Richardson, and she worked for many years as the admin at their church in Plano. She was a people person with a gift for hospitality, loving people, and making everyone laugh. Marti died in September, 2006 from complications of hepatitis. Her funeral was just like she wanted it, a celebration of her life. I always remember Marti with a smile.
