Bill slipped away far too early. He was a sort of genius - very smart but also out-going and ready to socialize. As a 7th grader going to "mixers" I could always be sure of at least one dance with Bill. No one could compete with him for grades or for citizenship. As we moved through to high school, I lost touch with Bill and then not many years later, I heard he was no longer with us. I am sure he touched many of you as well.

Bill was in my grade six class at Lonsdale. In class discussions he would use phrases like "He's a conservative with a small "c"."  I didn't know what the hell he meant. He was ahead of the pack.  He was a very kind person, quick to look for opportunities to praise people. I would be very interested to know more about him in the years after he graduated.

I knew Bill first at Sutherland, then at NVHS.  He was indeed very intelligent and was the only guy in our commerce classes.  He had a beautiful singing voice and took part in many of the school musicals and dramas.  We also bowled together in the after school bowling league down at Inman's Bowling Alley.

He started and ran The Airporter, a shuttle bus from the Plaza Hotel at Marine Dr. and Capilano Rd. to the airport.  He lived at home with his parents in NV until his death, which was due to his extreme obesity at the time.  Although he struggled with his weight all through jr. and sr. high school, he was such a personable guy, whom everyone liked.  I'm not sure how old he was, but he died very young.

BTW what is your email address, Bob?  You are not on our class list, or at least I can't find you there.

Cheers,

Janet
