Thanks for the birthday greetings. I finally caught up with you old folks. That is except you smart ones who may have jumped ahead a class. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Don, how did you put the clip art in the Message Forum? I have tried many times. Is there a secret?

Hope everyone is enjoying what is left of the Thanksgiving weekend. We had a wonderful time with the family at my nephew's home. There was so much rain Wednesday night that we drove the motor home on Thursday instead and stayed the night. We partied until 2:00 a.m.
We had the grandkids with us on Wednesday, Thursday night and then again tonight. What fun it is to be with papa and grandma. Did some shopping.

Oops before I forget, Happy Birtday Pat! Roland's birthday was on Thanksgiving day.

Looking forward to our winter break at work. Yippee 2 weeks.

Take care everyone.

OOPS! I deleted the original message....

While messing with my profile I discoved if you drop properly formatted html code (web page language) in it takes it. thus in my profile there's an amazon search tool, my email and more than one web address are active. The next day I tried it in the message forum and it worked. You do need to call the image in from a source on the web.

I inserted the same commands I'd use if building a web page. That may not make it any clearer, especially if the real question is "how can I do that".

We're on our way to Laughlin with the UFCW Retiree's Travel club. Will me home Wed night. Wish us BIG winnins'.

Hi Billie,
Hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving. We had a great time with the grandkids and of course they never want to go home. They say we spoil them, hmmm. Maybe so.
Well it's back to work tomorrow. Take care dear friend.

Don Deyne;

After looking at all your great clip art, it made me wonder if there was some way to make it easy to print out everyone's address for Christmas cards?
Oh crap, I just remembered my memory book they are all in there aren't they? DAAHHHH guess that really makes me an Idaho redneck now. Oh well, no big deal I'm getting used to it and I actually love it here so much it doesn't matter.
Have a good week, post us some more fun Christmas art.

While the addresses are in the memory book, what I read in your question makes me think how easy (well for some of us) it would be to print mailing labels from a spreadsheet or database using mail merge.

In Microsoft Word the process would start with TOOLS/LETTERS AND MAILINGS/MAIL MERGE

Now it makes sense to me that file exists. (Betcha that's how mailing labes were made for things we got concering the reunion.) Whether it's redily available or not, is another question. A quick look shows not all profiles have an address included, so it may be a qkuestion of everyone being agreeable to making such a file available.

If you use MS Excel and Word (or other spreadsheet/word processing programs) you could creat a spreadsheet with all your addresses in it and proceed from there. Probably take a little less time than handwriting all the addresses. If your email program address book includes mailing addresses, you should also be able to export those to a text file that could serve the same purpose.

Just some thoghts to make the really not-techie loose sleep over.

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

So sorry Don, never meant for you to lose sleep over mailig labels. You crack me up, ok buddy now you just need to chill. I am one of the old timers that actually love to write out my Christmas cards. LOL
Hang in there, but thanks for all the cute little clip arts.

Hi Don,
Wow, I never thought of doing the address labels thru mail merge, duhhh - Wish I had thought of that when I was addressing everything to the classmates. Thanks for the info, I have some mailings to do on another project I am working on so now I will know better. Appreciate the info.
Hope you and Genie had a great Thanksgiving.

Don, exactly how did you put the christmas tree and other art work in the message forum. I try to paste something and it does not paste? By the way, I love it!

Thanks,

Hey, I started to read Don's instructions and knew right away there was no way I was going to get it. I will have to stick to plain old notes with no animation. Even step by step instructions are usually over my head

Well Laughlin was not a success. Not all bad, had a little fun and we ate fairly well.

OK by popular demand (or some facsimile thereof) here's how to add pictures to notes. If this doesn't do it, then I've done all I can. (smiling all the while)

first try to choose graphics that aren't too big as the larger they are the slower the page will load if we all get carried away.

Second, you can't cut and paste you must enter the html programing code to display the pictures.

Third, the grapic must exist some where on the internet so you can "call" it in with the command.

The graphic to the left is called in with the following command string surrounded by < and >:
IMG src="https://www.animated-gif3d.com/galeria/holiday/happy_face.gif" ALIGN=LEFT

IMG starts the command string
SRC="" the info between the quotes tells the string where to load the file from
ALIGN=left as it sounds tells the program to place the graphic on the left side of the screen

in addition you can include
HEIGHT="" between the quotes sets the height of the image in pixels

Now in payment for this lesson send $100,000.00 or go to my profile and buy sumpin at amazon.
