Tom's Farm visit.
A good time was had by all. I agree with Phyllis, the time just goes by so fast. If you have never been to Tom's Farm, it is a must. Kathy Davies was really surprised at all the things there were to do and see. Kathy don't forget to take Roger out to look at those sofas. Kathy and I found a sofa that we both liked that was sooooooo comfortable. All of us enjoyed lunch at the restaurant which offers a variety of food (There is also a hamburger stand too). Each of us ordered something different, they all looked so good. The atmosphere was very nice as we enjoyed conversations out on the patio of the restaurant. We ventured over to the wine and cheese shop, proceeded to the fudge store and sampled some delicious fudge and browsed around. I did pick up some produce before I left. Radishes for 59 cents, celery for 99 cents and green onions for 49 cents. I browsed around the candy/nut store, it was tempting but I did not buy any. P.S. Kathy, I did purchase those Christmas ornaments we looked at, plus I found some clear glass icicles (real glass).

Here are some suggestions for other visits. Any other ideas?

1. Dos Lagos - lots of shopping and great restaurants.
2. Wine tasting in Temecula
3. Viewing the Christmas lights at the Mission Inn in
Riverside
4. Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga

Ladies, thanks for a great day!! Lynne, we MISSED YOU!

Take care,

Lorene

Marianna, with the long hours you put in on that job I'm sure the time will fly by. Plus with all the studying you have to do, it must not leave much time for yourself. I agree with Billie. Take it easy as much as you can.

Lorene,
I missed all of you at Tom's Farms, but it sounds like it was a great place to meet so maybe next time. I still have that round trip ticket to use. Thanks for keeping my room open! :-)
You mentioned Dos Logos, is that where you took me to dinner that first night? It was wonderful if that was the place.

Arrived in Moses Lake last night, it's nice to be back. I am looking forward to Wednesday when Martin and I will go back home to Hayden Lake together, and he actually will get to be home for four days. That's a first since he started this job last Dec.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Talk to you soon.
Love
Lynne

Marianna,
Congrats, That is so cool and we are so happy for you and just know you will get it all. I can't thank you and Stan enough for talking me into getting the sleep apnea test done - as you know I just kept putting it off. You guys are such a blessing to us and such dear friends.

Billie, yes,I agree with Marianna, can't wait to see you this spring - we are just going to have so much fun and the girls day oh - yeah a definite must.

We just got home about an hour ago from Branson. Had the best time - just only wish we could have spent more time there. But it's back to work.

Girls take care and Marianna congrats again so happy for you.

Lynne, Dos Lagos is where I took you to dinner, we walked through the tunnel. Glad that you and Martin are able to spend some much needed time together and with your family for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Nothing more precious than family & friends.

Lynne, keep your funny comments coming on the forum (don't stop), we missed you while you were on the trip with your parents. It's great to hear from everyone.

A note to all classmates: Have a wonderful Thanksgiving this week and be safe in your journeys wherever you are with family and friends.

Be safe,

Lorene

Hey does anyone remember Judy Trapp or Bob Hetrick?
The Trapp's had a big family, just wondering if anyone remembered them.

Lorene, you are such a wonderful friend thank you for everything you have done for me.

Maurene, I miss talking to you and hope all is well.

Phyllis, please let me know when your vacation is so that we can plan the Idaho mini reunion, I can't wait.

Love you guys,
Lynne

Pat Kuester (Bowen)

Has anyone eaten Campbell's Vegetable Soup (you know, alphabet soup) lately? They've actually made it for old people now. The letters are huge (or maybe it's my byfocals making them so).

Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Pat,
I am so glad that you mentioned the alpahabet soup, I actually thought my glasses were really messed up. I even made an appt to have a new eye exam. Now I know what the problem was.

Lynne, I think you left off the Von in front of Judy Trapp's last name. And yes I do remember Judy Von Trapp
being one of the singing Von Trapp family in the Sound
of Music. Her singing of "Edel Weiss" and "Doe a Deer a Female Deer" brought the house down at the Saltzburg Music Festival. Bob Hetrick I can't place, but, he could have been one of the yodelers in the festival.

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Mike Lampman,
What are we going to do with you? You never cease to amaze me, where do you come up with all this stuff. Wasn't that lady named Julie Andrews? Some of the titles I don't even reconize, or are you making them up? Gosh, that sounds like a blonde remark.

Bob Hetrick was a friend of my brothers, and my brother was in the class of 65. The reason I was asking if anyone knew them was because while I was at the Colorado River my brother showed me where Bob had crashed his plane on the river, killing him and his wife Judy Trapp. My brother thought Judy was in our class, but I don't remember her.

I prefer to leave this conversation on one of your funny notes, so send me something else my friend.

Love you as always
Lynne

Judy was in the class of 67. I had heard that they were killed in a glider but I don't know that for sure. I didn't really know her I just knew of her. One of my friends sister was friends with her.

Pat,
Bob Hetrick was best friends with my brother, he used to ski race with us all the time. I guess he and Judy were flying and trying to go under a wire that was stretched over the Colorado River but did't quite make it. My brother said Judy was a beautiful girl and very quiet, not like Bob at all.

Mark Overstreet

I remember Bob. He was a very mello guy. Bob was two years ahead of us, in the class with my brother Gary. Bob was about a foot taller than me and was on the cross country team with me during my 10th grade year. He was a surfer "dude" and hung around with Leroy. The running helped him with the endurance needed for surfing. He was one of the seniors that treated me like an equal, not like a underclassman. I remember telling my brother that Bob was a really cool guy. I'm sorry to hear that his life was cut short. He seemed like a guy who had a lot of living to do.

I hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. My son, Carlos, and daughter, Erika, are flying home tonight from UC Davis. It's only been a month since I drove up to be with them, but it seems like a year.

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Mark,
You are right Bob was a sweet heart, he was just like one of the kids around our house. It was a shock when we heard he and his wife had been killed and at the river of all places. I believe it was in 1996 but I am not 100% sure.

Like Lorene, I'd like to wish all of you a very happy Thanksgiving! Be sare and enjoy your families.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone and drive carefully throughout the weekend.

Robin Scott

If I remember right...Julie Andrews played a caregiver for the von Trapp family and she became Maria von Trapp when she married the Captain. One of the von Trapp daughters, Marta who sang at the festival as they were escaping was a girl named Debbie (not Taylor, tee hee) Turner. The Sound of Music was one of the best musicals, ever!!

I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Love,
Robin

Hi Classmates.
Hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

With this winding down 2008 and I hope everyone is enjoying their 40 Year Reunion DVD- I recently had an email that a couple of classmates did not receive theirs - and that does happen with the mail sometimes - I only heard from a few of you that you had gotten yours.

If there are any classmates that did not get their DVD please contact me as soon as possible - as I will be archiving everything at the end of December. You can either email or call me.

Looking forward to our 45th reunion.
