Well Pirates today it never got past 45. Now that is Lakewood, CA we are talking about. I do not remember it ever being that cold during the day unless you are in the mountains. Actually Pat I think I would much rather wear my socks, robe slipper and gloves than sleep in a 80 degree house. If you are loosing sleep you are welcome to come crash on my sofa where it is mighty cool. Jim my husband doesn't believe in heat in the house during December because he doesn't want our Christmas Tree to dry up & die...Humm...I guess a dead tree is more important than a warm wife????? I have had to go out and get a sweater for our little dog Brandie....She too is cold in this house....I actually prefer the cold but this is over the top...I was trying to do Christmas cards today. A little difficult with gloves on...LOL

Merry Christmas to all

Carol

Carol, Quit wearing those socks around the house and put your feet on Jim's backside every night until he turns the darned heat on. Even if he doens't turn the heat on, you won't believe the joy you will feel when he screams in pain. It'll definitely make your Christmas. You might have to have a couple of toes amputated though. It's a small price to pay for the pleasure of retribution.

Humm that sounds like a plan. He's a little touchy anyway so this maybe just the answer....Boy are the mountains beautiful. So much snow clear down to the 2000 foot level. Extra nice because we can enjoy it from 35 miles away and not get wet and even colder. Got up to 50 today....

Hi Peggy, I just saw the new photos you posted of the grandchildren, aren't you the lucky one. What a good looking family you have, I'm sure you spoil those grandchildren like crazy --don't we all!

Thanks for sharing your photos, take care and stay warm in not so sunny Las Vegas.

Marianna & Billie
Thank you both so much. Yes, the grandbabies are growing so fast and very loveable. Nick & Lexie have both been so close to us since they were born. In fact Stu and I were in the delivery room with Debbie and I got to cut Lexie's cord. Something I will never forget and Stu made a good coach and he had a Dallas Cowboys game on to help him. We are really proud of all our grandkids and hope to post some of the other grandkids after the holidays. Wish they could all be here for Christmas, but they they too far away, darn.

The news guy said we are in for another storm again this week-end - and it is cold here.

Take care ladies.
Peggy

T'was the night before Christmas and all through the house,
The computers weren't working, seems we'd all lost our mouse.
The stockings were hung by the fireplace with care,
But all I could think of was the color of my hair.
With me in my nightie and Don in his shirt,
We'd just settled down for a short winter nap.
A noise outside we heard, to the window to see,
A chubby old man in a red SUV.
He seemed nice and quite cheerful,
And this we did hear,
Hey Pirates, Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year!

Tom this cold weather is part of the Global warming. Extreme weather change. A little confusing being we are all freezing to death all over the country.

Well our heating now kicks on when it drops to 60 in our house and this has happened a lot lately. I just run and stand under the vent before it turns off. Our Christmas Tree is thriving...

You would think a couple of Eskimos live in this house. I woke up yesterday to frost on all the roof tops and everyone grass was frozen. Merry Christmas to all.

Merry Christmas to all I am here in Tennessee with my Mom for the Holidays and the weather is just a little colder then what we have in Califonia, but it's great I am hoping for a white Christmas and then it can all melt and go away until we go back home on the 5th of Jan. We have things that we want to do and the snow it's one of them. Peggy the pictures of your family are wonderful, Lynn the new pics of you and snow looks very cold. So for now I bid you and a very Happy Holiday and a Healthy New year. Take care all.

MAYBE global warming is a phase that comes and goes no matter what happens. Just a thought. (no debate required or desired - grin.)

Anyway, we went for a nice visit to my dad's yesterday. Scenic pics of what's left of the desert snow are in Christmas 2008 photo gallery at my picasa site.

For those photo bugs who've seen the Windows Vista (sorry didn't mean to curse) ads about stitching panoramic views. IT WORKS!!!!!! I bout fell out of my chair at how well (the one looking down on Joshua Tree came out ABSOLUTLY seamless) AND how fast it works. You can get it at getlive.com. It's supposed to work in both XP and Vista. (having done that I stitced a series of the Colorado River from the bank at the Riverside in Laughlin and it came out pretty well consideing the wide arc of the actual pictures. It's in the Laughlin gallery.)

Next up Christmas day at one of Geneva's cousins. Anyone traveling have a safe trip and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.

Darla,
Thank you very much the grandkids are my world.
I was kinda hoping for a white Christmas here too - but I think we have had all our snow here in Vegas we are going to get. But it sure is cold. I'm afraid to see our gas bill with the heater and fireplace running. Have a wonderful time visiting your Mom and I hope you get your White Christmas. Take care.

Merry Christmas to all.

Hi fellow classmates,

I have decided that I am nuts! Certifiable even. I remember telling people how wonderful the snow is... yeah right. I have been pushing around snow for the last week and am dog tired. Coming home this morning at 5:30 AM for some well deserved rest and the weatherman on the radio says today is only 2-3" of the new stuff on the way today, with a bigger storm on Christmas day and I swear... er rather I swore at him something fierce.

Hi Phyllis, yes very busy with snow removal here in wonderful Utah. Going to Jackson Hole, Wy. for a little snowmobiling and to visit with Dorothy Smaller and her hubby. oops, almost forgot Sammy too,

Really the snow is pretty. I just hate having to work hours and hours moving the stuff. Especially when you are almost done and here comes another dump of the white.

God am I really this old and crabby???

Keep smiling you all!

Ray

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Hi Ray,
I am sure my husband shares your thoughts about all of the snow right now. He's been on the roof for two days shoveling the snow off. I think the fact that we are 59 years old, (well we are anyway) has something to do with it. It's not as easy as it was way back when we first moved to North Idaho. We would really never move from here, it's just hard when like you said you just get it cleaned off and then another storm hits.

I've been talking to Dorothy and she is looking forward to your visit. I know you will have a great time, especially with Sammy.

Last Feb we went on a wonderful snowmobile trip in Yellowstone, we took our own sleds and had one of the best times in my entire life. One day we went over 80 miles it was amazing.

You have a wonderful time, and be careful driving!
Merry Christmas

Well guys, it is very cold here in the Phoenix area, as well. I think it was 50-ish today, if that. Suppose to get more rain Christmas Eve night and some Christmas Day. The forecast for tonight is...darkness!

Hi fellow Classmates,

Uh-Oh, I am in trouble now. I forgot Maggie, Dorothy's other dog and I know Maggie is gonna take a big bite out of my a--. A well deserved one for forgetting her. Than her frisbee calls me and she is gonna make me work for forgiveness...

Lynne, Luckily our roof is pitched high enough that is one thing I don't have to do. But that wonderful pitch just dumps it all down on the walks where I can shove some really heavy duty white stuff. I am hesitant to call it snow when it packs like that. More like sn-ice?

Well you know I am so looking forward to going and playing in the snow. Course I am sitting here in a nice warm room with the fireplace going, hot cocoa, and well it's sorta different out there then in here.

Sandra you had me cracking up with your forecast for the night in Phoenix. Darkness... heh heh heh

Well Mateys,

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Ray

It's another 75 degree Christmas Eve......what's Santa to do with his heavy winter outfit....especially if he is coming here from snowy Las Vegas. But, a Mele Kalikimaka and a Happy New Year to one and all....

Maurene BuSteed (Andrade)

Hi Lynne and all the classmates, I am so sorry I haven't been on the class forum, as you all might know I have been pretty busy taking care of my parents, went down for thanksgiving and the next day my dad had to go into the hospital and three days later I had to call 911 for my mother, I came down with four pair of jeans and four tops, and didn't know I would be there for over three weeks, God answered our prayers, they are doing better, but still not good, my dad has heart failure and kidney failure and my mother has a leaky value in her heart and has to have more tests. I am back here in southern California again and both are not doing well. This is why I haven't had time to say hello and to let all those who have emailed me, to let all of you know, thanks for the emails and to let you all know, that I haven't had time to respond and thank you so much.

Thanks to all my Pirates Family
Maurene

Lynne, the scenic Idaho pictures look like something on a picture perfect greeting card --just beautiful. You and your family look great too, thanks for sharing!

Billie Hundley (Linnane-Miller)

Maurene, I'm sorry to hear about your parents and their recent hospitalization. I can only imagine how difficult the past three weeks have been for you and your entire family. Please take care, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

My Dear Friends Maurene and Lorene:
There are many of us who share in thoughts and prayers for you both, and for your parents. As you know I am dealing with the same situation. If you look at one of the photos on my web site with me and my parents, you can see that far away look in my Mom's eyes. She really didn't even know what we were all doing or what day it was.

I miss you both so much, but really realize after the past few months how much we need to cherish every single moment we have with our loved ones and our true wonderful friends. So, thanks Maurene for taking that extra moment in your busy life to log onto the site and bring us all up to date. There are many of us that were worried about you.

Take care my friend, and call when you have a chance.

Love,
Lynne
