OK time for another grand parent story, bear with me please.

Tonight my two little guys are spending the night with me. We decided to go over and see my folks for a little while, then on the way home we took a drive all over town to look at the pretty Christmas lights. We came upon one display and the 4 year old said, "Oh look Nanny it's baby JESUS", now that's what Christmas is all about. Remember everyone Jesus is the Reason for the Season.

Happy Holidays
Love and Blessings to you all,
Lynne

It was called Clear Water Lake. When I worked at the Tastee-Freez, Paramount Blvd. would flood at that particular area. The water would rise high enough to cover the whole patio area. Once, I did see a man with one of those boat-car (or car-boats) try to get in deep enough so that the boat propeller would be of use.
Remember the swimming pool at the far end of the athletic field on rainy days (by the railroad tracks). I never went in after I saw a dead rat floating on the water.
When we were in high school, I used to love to hear about the history of Paramount from older folks. Living in the Long Beach/Lakewood area we were relative new comers to the area, early and mid 50's.

Hi Mark,

I was looking at my dad's book tonight after I got home, and it does show some photos of the school. It looks more like a prison if you ask me. I will scan those for you next week when I get back over to Moses Lake where the scanner is. I thought they would have printed an address on the front of the book, but they didn't.
It does have some great history in it, and I will share that with you as well.

Talk to you soon.

Thank you Billie and Happy Holidays to you and your Family!! Christmas week this year I'll spend in Idaho Falls with my sister, her 3 children and 5 (ages 3 to 11)of my "great" neices and nephews. This past Christmas was spent in Chicago with my brothers 2 (of 5!!) kids and his 2 grandchildren. They all love their Auntie Robin as I love them all to pieces, I could just eat them they are all so sweet!!. Although God didn't bless me with children my brother and sister share quite nicely!! Mom and Dad are gone but, we 3 take care of each other. I've always been a family person. After the stroke took her speech my Mom and I lived together for the last 5 years of her life. Billie, your family is so beautiful!! I believe I've told you this but you radiate happiness and your happiness comes from within, I saw it on your face and in your smile. Yes, happiness shines through your face and it's beautiful. Unhappiness will show on a person's face, as well, but you don't have that, no maam. I too agree that Jesus is the Reason for the Season. Take care my dear!!

Robin...I was just reading what you wrote to Billie. You are a very sweet lady! I can understand why your nieces and nephews would love their 'Auntie Robin'.
So when are you going to make it back up to Las Vegas so we can go listen to some Blues?

Our website is awful quite, naturally we are all wrapped up in the holiday festivities.

It's snowing here in Idaho, and supposed to get to the high of 2 degrees on Sunday, put another few logs on the fire.

I had the opportunity to go see the musical The Color Purple, it was amazing. The actors were from New York and all over that area, they were wonderful singers I've never seen such a wonderful program. If it comes to your area and you have the chance to see it, I'd sure recommend it.

Have a great week end everyone.

Good Morning Classmates,
I hope you are all warm and well, we are in the middle of a severe wind chill factor with our beautiful snow.
This morning's high temp is 5 degrees, I still love it here. I'm sure Dorothy Smaller will agree with me in some ways, it's just worth it.

Mike Lampman, you are probably basking in the sun under that coconut tree in Hawaii. We looked up a trip to Hawaii last night for the 1st of Feb. wow that's an expensive trip to plan. Maybe we were just looking at the wrong places.

I know we all have our private message areas now, but lets not forget our open forum it's so nice to be able to share with one another here.

Going out in the bitter cold today to do some Christmas shopping with my Dad, it will be fun.

Hope you all have a great day.
Lynne

OMG Lynne, I would die in Idaho. It is 50 degrees here. I have on socks, heavy sneakers, a long-sleeve t-shirt, a fleece Christmas sweatshirt, and jeans. I just took off my jacket. I have been wearing it in the office for 2 1/2 hrs. I can tell you right now, I will NOT be warm again until March or our next heat wave, whichever comes first. I hope it is the heatwave.

I'm with you Pat..anyone that likes being cold is insane!! Next Monday I'm leaving for Idaho Falls, my sister said it started snowing last Friday and hasn't stopped. I'm taking all the warm under garment armour, (what ever will keep me warm?)for when I'm outside at the Salt Lake City Airport waiting for my Express Shuttle to Idaho Falls. BURRRRRRRRR!! It will all be worth it to have Christmas with the little ones!!! Let's see who's in the snow right now...(definitely) Dorothy (Hi! Dorothy, we need to talk!!), Ray Olsen (Hi! Ray, how are you?), Tom Watt (Tom, are you freezing way up there next to Canada?), who else? Tell us about YOUR snow!! My lunch break is so over!! Oh, I'll be checking for Coco Montoya Blues band to be in Vegas and I'll come stay with you, Marianna, how's that sound? Okay? Hey Peggy Miller...You, me and Marianna out on the town one of these nights? You know Peggy, I've been meaning to reply to your sweet email for some time, it was so long ago you may not remember but it was so nice I will always remember what you said!!! It's been 1 full year since the left total hip replacement and I've got to say, I'm really feeling better, it's wonderful. I don't have the dull aching anymore, that's gone, pain can wear you down man!! I'm not as slow as I was during the reunion. Now I'm happy I did the surgery. Sometimes you wonder if you've done the right thing!! The bottom line is recovery takes longer the older I (or anyone) get. No more surgeries for me, I'm so done, finished!! How is Ron Dunphy's total hip replacement? Anyone heard from or seen Ron? I hope Ron is okay!! That recovery time is a bitch (oops, sorry)!! Mike Lampman...if I come to Hawaii by myself, where would I stay? Hi Phylis, Hi Carol...Merry Christmas to you!! Happy Holidays to Everyone!! Robin

Aloha everyone. Ok....my five day hawaiian weather forecast is 75, 75, 75, 75 and 75. Gotta love it. I had dinner with friend down by the water in waikiki friday night and it was awesome. What with the sunset, the water and the sail boats on it. It was a heck of an evening. Lynne and Robin.
You've got to e-mail me and let me know what you have in mind from a budget point of view and when you want to come. I'll see what I can do. I was reading the news last week and there was a lady who had a purse returned to her that she left in a restaurant bathroom. There just happen to be $97,000. in cash in it.....and someone returned it. And guess where all of this happened. In Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Where Rebecca Morrison lives. I sent her a message from this website and have yet to hear from her. I was just wondering if there was a law requiring someone to have that much in cash in their purse or wallet. And can you imagine someone forgetting that in a restaurant?
Yikes....someone has to teach me how to add those interesting pictures with your message. And does it also work with e-mail? All for now...Mele Kalikimaka

Pat and Robin,
I'm with you I can not stand being cold. I was all layered up all day today in the office. I know the snow is beautiful, but I will just have to be happy seeing it in pictures.

Ray, are you out there with the snow plows again? I guess you winter season is already in full swing. You had a long winter of work laat year and it looks like more of the same this year. You be careful out there with those machines. And yet you are planning a little vacation of snow mobiling. You are just a die hard for the snow aren't you.

Hi Robin,
So good to hear from you - I know how it gets with emails sometimes - I get busy and don't get to the for days on end. You are just so sweet and I enjoyed our phone conversations so many months ago - we'll have to catch up again after the holidays. I agree, the cold is not for me either - we are around the low 40's and I am freezing. Parts of the Las Vegas Valley got snow today, seems so strange for it to snow here. I can't wait til it warms up though. Yes, you, Marianna & I will have to get together when you come into town.
Enjoy your trip to Idaho Falls and bundle up girl - it's gonna be really cold there. I agree seeing the little ones makes it all worth while. You are just a real sweetie and those kids are going to love seeing their auntie. Travel safe and have a great time.
Looking forward to seeing you again.
Peggy

Hi Robin, Lynne, & other classmates,

Yes it's very cold here too. Wearing 4 layers of clothing helps keep me warm. Snowing now again. We should have a beautiful white Christmas. Ray and his girlfriend are stopping by after Christmas. Looking forward to seeing him again and meeting his lady.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Well Guys, if you want weather, come to Oklahoma. This Sunday afternoon around 2 o'clock, I went to the store to get some things for the Progressive Dinner Party we were going to have that evening. The sky was sunny and it was 72 degrees. During the Progressive Dinner, when leaving a house to go to another the temperature kept dropping. By the time we arrived at the last house it was sleeting. The temperature had gone from 72 degrees to a freezing 21 degrees,(before the night was over it was down to 10 degrees with the wind chill factor at 1 degree). We had another couple riding with us and since they were older, I was trying to help them up their driveway through the ice. My husband wanted to help them but I wouldn't let him. My husband has had a total hip replacement on the right hip, and a total knee replacement on the left knee. He had the type of replacement where the bone is grafted into the prosthesis. I can't have him out in this stuff, and taking a risk in falling. We are luck to be able to drive the car in the garage and walk into the house from the garage.
The weather was so bad that school was closed yesterday and today. That part was great because it allowed me to get caught up on a few things at home, like clean up after Sunday night's party. School is open tomorrow even though we still have quite a bit of ice on the ground and it is still in the 20's. Oh, well, back to the old job for 3 more days, (I have bus duty for the rest of the week in the afternoon), and then YEAH!!!, winter break for a couple of weeks. Have a Blessed Christmas!! And remember, "Wise men still seek Him and then serve Him!"

Hi everyone...

Yes it is mighty cold around here for So.Cal. I wear socks 24 hours a day. I only remove them to take a shower. I put my flanel sheets on the bed last week and I am wearing so many layers of cloths I can't move. I think it was only got up to 50 something on Sunday and Monday. Our rain we have been having is coming from the North so it is mighty cold. Other than that looking forward to Christmas and spending time with family and friends. Robin dress warm and have a great time with your neices. Lynne be careful out in the ice. Dorothy stay warm too. All of you in snow country be careful. I think Mike is the only sane person right now living in wonderful Hawaii. Everyone have a very Blessed Holiday Season.

Merry Christmas to ALL,
Carol

Carol: You need to live with an 83 year old for a while. You'll be walking around the house in sandals and short sleeves. Mom keeps the house at a balmy 80 degrees. She stays up late and then doesn't turn the thermostat down. I wake up some nights thinking I am having hot flashes.

Then I go to work and freeze to death. You just can't make some people happy.

Hey Classmates,
It's 13 degrees tonight, we have had about 10 inches of fresh new snow, and it's still coming down and I LOVE IT! I just came in from shoveling the driveway, all of the neighbors were out and we were talking and it was so quiet and peaceful with the snow coming down, there's just nothing like it.
Just throw another log on the fire and have a cup of hot cocoa.

I am now on my way over to the kids for dinner, and the we are going sledding. I know I'm insane, but you guys have known that for 40 years. I love life, and love to get out there and do things that are CRAZY to some, maybe that's why my grandsons call me "Crazy Nanny" gotta love it. Nothing like those little guys to brighten up your life. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, we will be having a beautiful White Christmas that's for sure.

I know we have a couple of more classmates here in Idaho, let us know how you are doing. Dorothy I know how things are with you, be safe on that porch with that shovel my friend.

I heard some of you folks in Las Vegas were getting snow? How do they handle the roads and stuff in LV when it snows, it doesn't seem like they would be prepared with snow plows, etc. What ever they do, all you guys that live there be safe on those roads. That seems to be where everyone has the problems up here, driving to fast for the road conditions.

Everyone be safe and have fun holidays doing what you like.
Lynne

Happy Holidays Pirates............

Dennis and I are off to New York and Washington D.C to visit the kids for Christmas. This California girl is going to be freezing. Although here on the Central Coast we are having some pretty cold weather. It has gotten down to 27 at night...my poor plants.

We had such a great time at the Mini Reunion that I hope we can get another one going sometime in the spring. We need to work on those that did not make either gathering.

Well I better get packing...............

A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL.....

Marsha

Hi Marianna,
Yes, Snow!!!!!! Once it started this afternoon they sent us all home from work, agreeing that most people here don't know how to drive in the snow.

It hasn't snowed here in our part of town since 2006. It's really nice and here it is 10:15pm and still on the ground and pretty cold out.
Have a Merry Christmas to all our Pirates and their families.
Peggy
