Lynne ---

My husband's Aunt Maggi was in an Alzheimer's facility here in Lake Havasu. Your mom's place looks very similar; even her room looks the same. The caregivers are so special and really love the residents. As hard as it is on your familiy, I'm sure that your mom will be very happy there and she will be safe.

God bless you all. . .

Marcia

Thank you Pat, Carol, and Marsha:

My mom does love it at Creekside, however my dad is really struggling with losing the love of his life. He had tears in his eyes when we left today. He ask me how often he should go, I told him there were no rules with this disease that he could go anytime he wanted and it was what he wanted to do that counted not what anyone else thought. He's been there most of the day, after dinner he strolled my mom around the building into a private living room and they watched tv together all by themselves. I was so proud of him.
Please say an extra prayer for my dad he is such a wonderful man, and he is hurting so bad.
Thanks so much to all of your for being such wonderful loyal friends, thru the good times and the bad.
Love,
Lynne

Thanks to one and all for the very kind birthday wishes. I appreciated all of them. I spent the weekend at my favorite hotel in Hawaii called Koele Lodge on the island of Lanai. If you are curious about it you can google it...click on the lodge at koele and click on photos. You'll see what makes the place so special. It really looks like it is located in Montana. I hope this finds everyone well. a hui ho.....and Lynne you know what a hui ho is.... aloha Mike

Hey Mike

I spent 1 day in Honolulu in 86 (the day Buckner lost the ball) and I think we met some hui hos walking down the street late at night.

Hi Mark,
I am glad you enjoyed the photos, I was just dinking around with my new camera and thought I was pretty smart finding a way to load them on the site.

Mike Lampman, sounds to be that Don D found some of the hui hos on the street in Hawaii, now I am beginning to wonder if maybe I was right about the ho part. LOL

Hope everyone is having a great week.

Phyllis and Lorene Thank you so much for the phone calls today. Love you both.

Lynne

Hello Fellow Classmates,

All these trips down memory lane, I have to throw my two cents in... during our senior year I used to go to the Park Pantry on Paramount Blvd. every day (I worked there)and used to eat all my meals during my shift. 3:30PM till closing usually 11:00-11:30PM. My folks moved away and I chose to stay in Paramount and finish high school there with all of you... Anyone remember me falling asleep in school... now you know why. Was a lousy social life but hey I survived. I used to always look to see who from school came in. Anyway no one has mentioned that place and well now it's mentioned.
I see lots of birthdays, Happy birthday to all... Now anyone want to talk about today and not so much way, way back then...???? hmmmm???

Lots of fond regards,
Ray Olsen

Ray: Park Pantry was one of the restaurants my uncle used to take me to after church when I was a teenager. Thanks for reminding me of it.

Ray,
I know you had to see me and my family there, it was just down the street from us and we ate there all the time. Didn't they have great cinnamon rolls?

You want us to talk about today, I'm not sure because my news these days seems to always be drama.
My youngest son Jeff, got battery acid in his eye and burned a hole in it yesterday, it's been very painful and they hope it hasn't damaged the retena.(sp)

I just got home from taking my mom to the ER, they called me and said it looked like she had blown a pupil which is pretty serious. We went to the ER the doctor was very open and honest with us, he said she could very well have had a brain bleed, we could do a cat scan, and then if it was, it could be brain surgery, or a medication that could kill her, or we could just let it go do to the stage of her alzheimer's. Our family chose not to put my mom thru all of that pain.

So, there was my day.

Love ya Ray and I know you know that.
Lynne

Hello to all!

Ok Ray, this is how it goes. 2009 has to be better or get better than this. It has been one """ of a ride so far.

Mom was back in the hospital last weekend and doing much better now, plus she is out of the hospital. Picture this, one who does not like to go around with her hair not combed. I get a call from mom saying I don't feel good, naturally I am in my pjs. I spring into action, put on clothes, head out the door, no make up, no face wash, nor is my hair combed. Speed 100 miles per hour to the ranch, no police in site, but I think I hit every red light on Van Buren to the 215 Freeway. I left Roland with the grandkids, poor guy. We were watching them for the weekend, so Roland was with the 3 kids and I stayed pretty much with mom, but I did go home at night.

Things are so crazy at work. Teachers are fearful of losing their jobs, the phone rings endlessly.

Hey, I am ready for Carmel to have some R&R. When things calm down here at work, that is the first place I'am going to. Peace and serenity!

LOL so Ray, that's whats been happening in my neck of the woods. Not so much fun huh.

Lynne, you Maurene and I need R&R!

I think remembering the past is a whole lot more fun than what most of us do on a daily bases....If any of you have Sirus Radio in your cars check out station 6 which is the songs of the 60's or check out 5 which is oldies....Some of the songs are too funny, it makes going back and forth to work a joy. One song was called Lucky Lips....The words cracked me up....all have a nice day or should I say nice evening.....

What it sounds like is you girls need to go to the Vegas Party and be around some fun with the other classmates.....

Sandra Harris (Lint)

Hi Guys,
Well Ray, here's how it is in Mesa this week. My Mom recently found out she has macular degenerate eye disease. The specialist guy gives her a shot in the eyeball. That's right, "into" the eyeball, every six weeks (I think). We had took the car keys away when she said she couldn't read the street signs. So after the shot in the eye, she asked when she could drive herself around once again. I looked at her and shook my head. She says "I can see far away, I just can't read anything!". My son spoke up and told her, let me take you to the DMV and take an eye test. If you pass I'll let you drive home, other than that, the keys are mine! Sorry Mom, the Chris-man has spoken! Then there's my daughter whose husband is a pain in the butt. She goes to school at night and leaves about 6PM, he's called her all week saying he doesn't think he'll get home in time. He's trying to sabbotage her and shows up at the last minute. She will graduate in October, thank goodness, if we all make it til then. This has been going on for quite some time now. Isn't that emotional abuse? The heat started this week, 97 and up. I wasn't ready for it this soon! It's making me get all hot and bothered and my hair frizzes up! Yuck!! Lynne, tie a knot in the rope and hold on tight! I'm right behind you!

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Hi Sandy

WOW, a shot in the eyeball, that sounds horrible. I hope they don't have to do that to my Mom in the morning.

Sounds like many of us have had rough things going on in our lives, but I have to tell you there is just something about being able to share with your friends. I have received so many good wishes and good information from our classmates, for that I am really thankful.

So, let's just stay focused and maybe forget all about that rope, unless the rope is being used to rescue one another.

love ya
