Has anyone ever tried to get hold of Sharon Glasser?

05/11/09 11:44 PM #2317

Carol Maddex (Switzer)

Marianna you do have a great memory. You never cease to amaze me every time to tell a story of something we did or something happen when when we were in school and I always think how does she remember that....Alzheimer runs in my family and each day I live in fear that will happen to me one day...I try and keep myself busy, do puzzles and read all the time, so I am hoping that will be enough...

Sandy,

We did find Sharon when we were finding classmates last year...She was not interested in the reunion then so maybe in the future. We found over 3/4 of the class but not all were interested in a reunion...Oh well there loss, because this has been so much fun reconnecting with each other on this site and seeing everyone that was at the reunion last year...Looking forward to June....

Carol,
I share your same fear of Alzheimer's disease, and watching my mom go thru this journey has been very hard.

There has been a 5 part series on HBO on Alzheimer's, we have been watching it. Some of it scares the crud out of me, and other parts I can see where my mom is and how she must be feeling. There is hope that they will find a cure in our lifetime, but not soon enough if you ask me.

On Mother's Day we decided to bring my Mom home to her house, when she walked in she said, "Who's house is this?" and we just kind of let it go. That was the end of it. She just sat out on the patio with us and then we had dinner and a little while later she said she was tired and she wanted to go home, so we took her back to the facility. Believe it or not, my dad and I were thrilled, because to us it meant we could bring her home in the future and have time with her outside of the facility.

My brother and his wife will be here tonight and they will stay for a week. We are hoping that my mom will remember them. Then my mom's sister will be here the next week from Oregon and we hope that she will remember her too. It will more than likely be there last visit.

I hope you will all have a wonderful time in Vegas, I'm going to miss some of you a lot. Have fun and take lots of pictures to post.

Lynne

Lorene,

The twin on the left is you. What a cute picture.

Pat

Lorene BuSteed (Householder)

Sorry Pat, the twin on the right is me. I was always smaller than Maurene, that is how I got my nick name, some of you know and some of you don't know it.

Hey, I am so ready for a break. I just need to get away. Too much going on, does it ever end.

I wish I could go to Las Vegas, but don't know what is going to happen as Roland maybe having surgery on his knee. They are sending his best friend, our neighbor home from the hospitlal today, we don't know how much time he has, as hospice will be with him. Please say a prayer for Paul and his family. This man was an avid runner, ran the Boston Marathon every year and always scored high for his age group.

Work is crazy, can't take a day off, no one wants to work through the transition of new board positions. (President - Vice President). I have 4 weeks to use it or lose it before August 31. Ya think it's going to happen? Don't think so.

Everyone take care.

Lorene

Hey Guys,
Not to worry about us at all for the Vegas party dinner.
My brother has a good friend who is a caddy for one of the big name super golfers, and he is working on something else for us.
Still going to miss you though.
Lynne

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Hi Phyllis,
I've got yours, Molly's, and Carols. We will see what happens.

My brother is up here but just got back from the hospital and has a ruptured disc in his neck, the pain is going down his arm. He has to go to the VA hospital so he may have to go back home.

Things are up in the air right now.

Love you all
Lynne

Laurene and Maurene, it was a hoot talking on the phone last night with all three of us on the line. Laurene I hope you were able to get up for work this morning, I know you aren't used to staying up until after midnight, but it was so much fun.

Looking forward to our trip girls.

Love ya

Steve Wysong,
Let me be the first to say "Welcome" to the PHS site.
I know many of us look forward to hearing from you and about you and your life.
This has been a wonderful site for all of us to get back in touch with one another.

I hope life has been good to you.

Lorene BuSteed (Householder)

Hello Lynne, yes I enjoyed our conversations last night too. Oh I am used to staying up late at night. Peace and quiet. See I am up right now. Just finished wrapping all the gifts for the Teacher's retirement party tomorrow. It's going to be another late night. I finally got home this evening around 8:30 p.m. after starting work at 8:00 a.m. hum, I should be tired but I am not. Just got to get through this party and then hopefully head up to Carmel this weekend for a few days.

We will have to do the three way calling again with all of us.

Hope things are going better for you with your mom.

It's almost a holiday weekend, boy some much needed R&R.

Take care all!

Lorene

I understand that California's Governator has San Quentin up for sale. It will remain a prison but privately owned. Have I got this info correct? How about a bit more info on what you all voted on....Sandi

05/20/09 06:03 PM #2338

Phyllis Willhite

We all voted on no more taxes.

05/20/09 06:04 PM #2339

Carol Maddex (Switzer)

I voted NO on everything except "F". Will make the politician go without a salary till a budget is met after all that is what we pay them to do up there...I can only imagine what this special election cost California...and to think things would really pass...There is already NO Money where he wanted to borrow...I say just print up some more and be over it....The only one that pass was "F". Arnold doesn't take a salary only $1 a year...now if we can get the others to follow suit...
