Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Bob and Connie,
So nice to see you both on the forum and hearing your stories. Connie I hope things will work out for Therese soon, bless her heart! Keep us posted, I think of her often.

My brother just left today to return to CA, he came up to help out with my folks. It was good for my dad to have him here while we are all adjusting to my mom being in an Assisted Alzheimers Facility. Like you said Connie, you really have to do things while you have the opportunity. Live each day as if it were your lsst.

While my brother was here he was in terrible pain, he ended up havig to go to the VA Hospital in Spokane, WA
where he found he had a ruptured disc in his neck. He hopes to be able to get it taken care of at the VA in Loma Linda. He wants to avoid surgery, he's heard all my horor stories of my neck surgery.

He also was telling us a story about a teacher he had name Mr. Dixon, does anyone remember him?

Nice to see some new faces on here, hope everyone is doing well.

Just about time for the big Las Vegas mini reunion, should be lots of fun.

Everyone take care,
Lynne

Thank you Lynn,

Like I said to connie, I dont post much but I am soooo glad this site is here, it give's me a little time to look back and have a smile. the reunion last year was really great, but living in Georgia make's a bit difficult to make others, I sure hope the get together this year is great one also.

I hope your brother get's his back fix, I have a lower vertibrea out of place and need to have it fixed but keep putting it off, I know some of the VA hospitals in other states are pretty good but the one in Atlanta I do not trust any farther than I can throw a pick up truck..LOL

Keep up the good work on this site.

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the reply, my brother ruptured a disc in his neck. He went back home to CA so he hopes to be able to get into Loma Linda soon to see what they are going to do. First he has to go thru all the hoops at the regular VA physician in Sun City, so it may take sometime. He's pretty miserable and is living on pain meds right now, so we hope they will do something soon.

It's really hard sometimes to keep posting on the site, some times you really do run out of stuff to talk about. My life has been so wrapped up in care giving of my mom, I felt I was starting to be a real downer on the site.

I'm glad you popped in to keep us going.

Hope everyong is well.
Lynne

Hey Lynn,

Completely under stand about the care giving, we had went through that with my wife's parents.

My mother-in-law had alzhiemers (spelling??)lol amoung other health problems, she was 87 when she died in 1996 and my father-in-law just gave up when she past, 10 weeks later he was gone at the age of 92, they were married 62 years.

Well we should be hearing about all the fun at the L.V. get tether pretty soon, hope all had a fun time.

Weather is good, sooo,I think I'll jump on the bike and take a little ride. :>)

Have a good day...bob...

I have not been on the site for a while, but it looks like no one else has either. Where have you all been? I have been on facebook. I have started with farm town and I have to tend my farm every day. What with planting and hiring myself out to harvest for other farmers. I have been really busy. Anyone want to join me at farm town? I amd starting to get the hang of it and now I am hooked.

Hi Classmates,
Phyllis you are right, the forum seems to be rather quiet. We all had talked about how sad it would be to see our forum stop after our Big Wonderful 40 Year Reunion. I hope that won't happen, I don't have much to say tonight but thought I'd write just to try to keep the forum going.

So, now this is a challange to everyone out there that takes the time to read, but doesn't take the time to write. Please just add a little blurb now and then to let us all know how you are doing and that you are still out there.

All of you lucky Pirates attending the Mini Reunion this weekend, have a wonderful time. Send us lots of photos when you get home.

I will be attending my step-granddaughters high school graduation and my grandson's 5th birthday party which by the way will be the PIRATE THEME!! How about that?

God Bless
Lynne

Mark she told me to tell you she does live in a log house. I guess you must have ask at one time.

We can only keep her in out thought and wish her some good times....

Happy Birthday to Mariana

Happy Belated Birthday to Donna Boudreau and Congratulations on her "Retirement" in the very near future.

I'm with Phyllis. Looking forward to the Vegas gathering. Another opportunity to spend some time reuniting as well as getting to know some of my fellow classmates that I didn't really know during our school days.

Just a few more hours, before the Parties on for the Paramount Pirates Class of 68 that could make it to this one. Kudos to several people from our class, that have continued in their efforts to keep our class connected with our reunions, party at Lorene's, gatherings such as this one and our forum.

Mike Lampman

Aloha to everyone. I wanted to check in before I leave for the day to wish everyone a safe trip to and from Las Vegas. And to have a great time at the reunion. I am so pleased to see the great signup. Great job and a high five to everyone on the planning committee. I'll be raising my wine glass, more than once, to all of you over dinner tomorrow night wishing I could have been there. I'm having dinner at a restaurant on the shoreline with a drop dead awesome ocean view with sounds of the crashing waves. As I look at the sparkling moon on the water after the phenominal sunset, I'll be thinking of you guys. HAVE A GREAT TIME ONE AND ALL!!!!! a hui ho.....

Lorene BuSteed (Householder)

Mike, I agree! Everyone have a safe and wonderful trip to the city of lights. Take lots of pictures to share with the rest of us. Although Mike, it sounds like you are going to have a wonderful view yourself - enjoy!

Ray, what a great idea to take your fifth wheel. Have fun my friend and enjoy yourself.

Lynne enjoy the birthday parties and I hope you are feeling better after the accident. It was great talking to you this afternoon.

Tomorrow night I will be taking my mom to play bingo at a local intermediate school. This was something she and my dad loved to do. $$$$ go to school items that are much needed.

Classmates, hold the month of October. Fender Museum is going to have some amazing events and talents during the whole month. I am not at liberty to say at this moment publicly, but hold your hats, it's going to be BIG!!! I was at a Board meeting on Thursday morning. There is going to be a lot of dancing going on too with a dance floor. One event will be held at the Ontario Convention Center, it going to be too big for Corona.

Fender Museum event scheduled for June 20. It's going to be a carnival, with rides, music, fireworks, games, lots of stuff that will be given/raffled away. Lots of food, beer and wine too. This event will start from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This venue will be held at the Fender Museum on Main/Harrison Street in Corona just off the 91 Freeway. Bring the grandkids or just come and enjoy the sounds. Bring blankets to sit on the grass or chairs if you prefer. Don't forget to bring a light jacket as it can get cool in the evening. I will be at this event.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Always,

Lorene
