Kip lived an extraordinary if a bit eccentric and unusual life and raised three great kids. His youngest, Sean, graduated with honors from both high school and college and is now working in the computer world. Kip contracted lung cancer somewhere during his long history of heavy smoking and it took him from us in 2005 after nine months of deteriorating health. He went out with dignity and the confident knowledge that his younger brother John would look after this two youngest, Christopher and Sean.

Very sad to hear about "Kip". We spent alot of time together on our motorbikes and going to the car and motorcycle races at Monthlery. The picture was taken at Monthlery in May 1963. The picture includes my sister, Bill Healy, "Kip", Gerard Welker and my three brothers. As "Kip" noted in my yearbook that year, "It's been a fast three years and we finally made it in the motorcycle magazine". He was a great friend in Paris, and we all lived on the edge. So sorry he was taken far too soon. Charles Horner '64

I was very fond of Kip. Dated him during my last days in Paris and then we got together after we returned to the states. He came to visit me for a week-end In Augusta,Ga. during an unusual ice storm that cut off all our power. Kip and I ended up sleeping in separate sleeping bags on the floor in front of the fire place in our dining room. Fortunately we owned a home with fireplaces in each bedroom and front rooms/dining rooms so my father was busy tending to the fires of each of the rooms. It was a fun reunion for us both in 1963. I do not remember why we didn't keep in touch. I am so sorry Kip's life was so short.
