So sad to see Jerry’s passing at such a young age. Jerry was a good friend and #2 on the golf team that finished 3rd in the USAREUR championships at Garmisch in October 1962 along with Dixon McElwee, Duke Steineman, and myself. Duke shot 79 on the last day and would never let us forget it. Garmisch was never the same after the Paris team arrived at the tournament. One had to feel for Coach Ned Straela who emptied our suitcases of all the German beer we bought for the train ride home. We didn’t hold it against him however and Jerry bought some Schnapps in Munich on the way home.
Jerry was a great teammate who made our golf trips and daily practice tons of fun, not to mention he was a solid golfer. Very sad to see that he passed some 16 years ago. Thank you for letting us know, Karen and Charles.
