What have you been doing since your PAHS days? My first 10 years after college were spent as a caseworker, manager and child welfare consultant. I then spent 40 years in medical sales. I retired in 1970 when my husband was diagnosed with a rare dementia. I have written three books since then.
What years and grades did you attend at Paris American High School?

I attended only my senior year-class of 1965

Where did you live while attending PAHS?

Rocquencourt ("SHAPE Village")

Who or what influenced you most at PAHS?

I only attended PAHS my senior year, but have many fond memories, particularly of riding the bus from SHAPE Village, ditching class occasionally by lying down on the seat and exiting at Rue Marboeuf to explore Paris. Dawnelle McClusky and I had a wonderful senior trip to Italy where we took the train to Naples, Rome and Genova.

I remember losing focus at graduation and walking backstage instead of following the classmate in front of me and returning to my seat. One of my most embarressing moments as I peaked around the curtain and got back in line several students later, to the howls of laughter.

I also have great memories of the outstanding teaching staff and exceptional classes I took. I feel so priveledged to have attended PAHS for that year.

What were your favorite places or things to do in Paris as a PAHS student?

Visit Les Halles, the museums, ride the metro, and walk the beautiful city.

What is one moment from your PAHS years you never forgot?

There were so many. One was sneaking under the ropes surrounding the Eiffel Tower, and donning costumes on the set of "The Great Race" so we could meet Tony Curtis. In my exuberance of asking for his autograph, I stepped on his white shoes, and we were summarily (and unceremoniously) escorted off the premises.

Looking back, what did living in Paris during your teenage years mean to you?

At 17, what a wonderful time of life to experience Europe, and in particular to live in Paris.The experience was as we all know, special, and uniquely exceptional. Lucky pirates!

I am so sorry for your loss, Dave. I didn't know that Kate passed away 3 years ago. My heartfelt condolences.
Sounds like you are going on the Viking Cruise from Paris to Normandy. We did it two years ago. Viking is the best experience. Fortunately, we had visited Normandy twice before, because Mike's dementia made the trip more challenging. Have a good time and Happy birthday.

Hi Dave. I only attended PAHS for my senior year but treasured the experience. Living in SHAPE Village, the adventures on the bus, including occasionally slinking low in our seat to ditch school to go into Paris for the day. Even smoking those gold tipped cigarettes!

Sharon Moore and I had great fun together. Her passing is so sad.

I missed the trip to Majorca as Dawnelle McClusky and I elected an alternate adventure. We took the TGV to Italy. Great memories including Pompei, Rome and Genova.
