Cary, North Carolina - Margaret "Peggy" Moore Polashock, age 76, of Cary, North Carolina, passed away on January 11, 2024. Margaret Jane Moore was born on February 22, 1947, in Montgomery, Alabama, to Colonel Frederick Lawrence Moore and Lois Addison (Fremlin) Moore.

Margaret's family moved to France with the US Military and she went to high school at the Paris American High School at Fontainebleau (now The American School of Paris).

She attended Stephen's College before she transferred to the University of Florida where she earned a bachelor's degree in business. She was one of only three women receiving degrees from the Business School that year. Later, while raising two small children she earned an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler School of Business.

Margaret had a successful career, starting as a tax accountant and tax manager before progressing to become a General Accounting Manager at Nortel. She later achieved Director level positions at Nortel and Price Waterhouse Coopers. Margaret's entrepreneurial spirit led her to buy and grow a small business. She often referred to her role as president of her corporate housing company as "the best job I ever had." She was also a proud corporate sponsor of the Carolina Hurricanes.

Margaret was a loving wife to John Polashock, a devoted mother to Scott (Kim) Crosbie and Annie Polashock, and a cherished grandmother to Addison, Will, and Meg Crosbie. She is also survived by her brother Keith, nieces Irene, Kelly, Mira, nephew Kris, numerous cousins, and many friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her father Colonel Frederick Lawrence Moore, her mother Lois Addison (Fremlin) Moore, her brother Larry (Fred) Moore, and her son Justin Polashock.

Outside of her professional life, Margaret had a passion for music and sports. She attended many concerts and musicals and was an avid fan of the Carolina Hurricanes. She found solace and community at the First United Methodist Church of Cary, where she worshipped.

A celebration of Margaret's life was held on February 10, 2024, at 3:30 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, located at 200 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27511. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret's name can be made to First United Methodist Church, located at 117 S Academy Street, Cary, NC 27511.
